Some good news for Australia and New Zealand

I just spoke to the head of PC games at EB AU & NZ. He tells me that Guild Wars:Nightfall (standard and collectors editions) has arrived at their warehouse, and should be hitting the shelves in-store within the next 2 or 3 days. Some stores may even have them by tomorrow afternoon.

He wasn't able to tell me how many copies they have available (he knows how many, he just can't tell me) , so I hope you have all pre-ordered to avoid dissapointment.

Just to recap.

• GW:NF (standard & collectors) boxes have arrived at the EB Australia warehouse.
• Stores should have them on-shelf by Thursday.
• Stores have been notified that they can sell before official release date.
• Number of standard/collectors boxes available are unknown, so if you didn't pre-order you had better be quick.

Good news indeed. I might drop by EB on Wednesday.

I called up EB(melbourne) and they say no early pickup as there will be a 10K fine.. so.. loooooong wait.. .

Already got my CE on preorder, instant its released ill be there.......

We all know how often retail staff don't know what they're talking about. Try calling again tomorrow and you'll probably get a different answer.
I called the EB Australia head office and spoke to the head of the PC games division myself. An all-stores-memo is being sent stating they can release the game before Friday.

I'll give my store a call from work tomorrow be nice to pick it up Thursday night actually. I'd do it earlier if they have it, but I simply can't get out there during business hours. 4pm clock-off earliest I can get, then an hour train trip, 15 min drive... Thankgoodness for late-night shopping.

so this means we can BUY the game on wednesday or thursday but can only start playing it on friday?

oh btw, will this be the same for canberra?


also, does anyone know how much the CE will be? ive been hearing rumours of it being $120....too much...if it is this much will the price decrease in say a week or so?

Yeah, the 120 odd came from advertising at my local store. From what others have been saying my store has it wrong. I will "price match" with other EB stores if necessary, I suggest you do the same if it comes up.

i havent preordered the game...wat are the chances of me being able to get the game on friday (wen im planning to buy).. i live in canberra

I think you should be able to get the standard ed just fine. CE might be pushing things... If you have a CC I suggest you price check with the online store. Normally they are cheaper, but it's good to check the exchange rate on the day, you might get a real bargin.

EB indro (Brisbane) has the boxes in stock already, I stopped by today... but he says he wont give em out till Friday
He said he *might* give the boxes away after 5pm on thursday

Yeah I saw the boxes come in for Nightfall at my local store, but they wont let me have my preorder till fri.

So, you can all stop worrying about delays now . Glad to hear that everything has gone smoothly.

With regards CE availability I will just disagree with Lady Lozza slightly. I can't say anything specific, however the CE should be easily available during release week. We know it's popular with you guys...

On a final note ... if I'm getting my conversions right, the servers should open at 17:00 AEST on Friday. Just in time for you to get home from work/school and get stuck in.
