We have an IDS, we have an FDS, how come no LDS?? I think that would be cool to have a lightning dragon sword...............thoughts?

Because the LDS would come with Magic Underwear. That would be a disadvantage to all non LDS users.

It'd be nice. I'd prefer that the normal weapon mods (fiery, shocking etc) had some special weapons effects, though that'd probably give away what elemental damage you're using and you'd see people armour/shield/weapon swapping as soon as they see you coming.

They should just make every type of Dragon Sword, just for the sake of having them in the game. Although I imagine Anet are already planning this (I hope)....

My same old reply to all things new and have nothing to do with unbalancing gameplay except to bring variety and more skins into the game:

Won't fit in with NF theme and they won't add new skins to old chapters..I'm all up for alot of variety but only if it fits in with the theme.

Originally there were only FDSes, then for wintersday last year they added IDSs. So I guess we are going to have to wait for an appropraite event for SDSs and EDSs.

What kind of logic is that?

They added new skins to the old chapter not too long ago, so what's stopping them now?

They can easily add a Shocking Dragon Sword and have it drop anywhere in any chapter.
