What is your favorite GW memory?

I bought Prophecies at retail release. Pre-searing was bit more populated with monsters in those days and I found it fascinating. But the Ascalon map was simply a revelation! It has since been nerfed, but at release it was simply working alive with mobs. I will never forget the wonderful challenges of the early game, so different from WoW, so incredibly dangerous! The Ascalon maps as they once were will always live in my memory as one of the great gaming experiences of my life.
Dr Strangelove
Beating Final Assault with a random PuG. Took us 2-3 hours and an unspeakable number of deaths each.
Also, randomly exploring the UW with guildies in the wee hours of the morning.

Well, beating abbadons was a great experience (was stuck there for 3 months.) Tried it like 10 times before (even failing at the last of the 6 towers) So I was really happy when i finally saw the cutscene.
Also very first time I actually made my own group and held halls. (gogo Obsidian Spike! - November last year.)

My favorite memory.. taking a guildie group to beat Glint and complete the final quest for Sorrow Furnace. Beating that giant golem was fun, and we worked together to get it done. We finally figured out that to stop the massive attacks from the Fire Dinji (spelling error) we need to stick together and attack one at a time. When all three of them died, the golem is gone and we took lots of screen shot.
THe other favorite moment was with Rare when we took down Shiro in Sunjiang. I never know that you can kill Shiro that early in the game.

back when i was a noob, doing a random quest with someone i just met, getting a gold hammer from a big troll thing and i thought it was super godly i think i used it even after completing the game it was that good, dont have it any more though then after we did the quest we explored this pathway and walked around the north shivers for half an hour and found ice tooth cave! a very good trip all round.
i know im gonna get flamed for this, but it was also very fun eoe bombing the alliance battles, me and my guildies were hysteric, only did it once though, and thouroughly apologixed to the people we did it to.
Another fun memory was getting to halls with henchway, beating an iway and several balances on the way :P
another fun memory was hells precipice, with aforementioned hammer, trying to kd those titans was very fun, dunno how i made it through the mission tbh i was practically useless :P had north shivers armour as well

Being at a friends house while he was trying to get the 15 attb quest in the desert, then saying the desert wasnt the end and if you do 3 more tought missions, then beat your self, you go into ascension, not at all knowing what it was. Then to appear in Droks when i did it.
Also getting FoW on my War then my Monk, both on first tries.

The events are fun...
But it would have to be when the leader of my very first guild quit, sold everything, and spent it all on ale. The entire guild just sat around in our guild hall chatting while he kept massive amounts of ale circulating.

I have two memories of Guild Wars, both of tem to do with the people. The frist one, was one my first day of Guild Wars 14 months ago, and have only just remembered it now.
In Ascalon City pre, this girl (she was a female mesmer, IIRC, which i probably dont) needed the quest for the Res, seeing as i needed it and wanting to see how a mighty level 5 played i went along. After getting the sig, she asked if I needed any help. We did sme of the Devonna missions and then cleared out the cave of Skale behind the waterfall. I just remember been amazed at the sight of the Golden Light in a cavernous hall, filled with sparkling water and blushing green flora. I knew then that i would love GW. I cant remember the persons name. I regret it.
The next memory was in the ToPK before battle isles. My first time there with a PvP char. I joined a group and we got to the second arena, got the one the and only bit of fame i've ever gotten. After been beaten we just sat our character's down and just talked. Must have talked for over an hour, about random shit, RL and all that. We talked about guilds, good and bad, and we said that maybe we would start our own. We didnt, but they were my first in-game firends i made. Dont talk to them anymore, but they are on my friends list. Good times.
The really good memories come from the early game for me. Like most here, I was just over come with it all, my first MMO and my second RPG after Dungeon Siege. It was great, but now it is not mundane, but more normal, it dosnt have anything that you can just fall in love with for me, i still love it, but for old reasons, reasons whihc are great, but old none the less. And these reasons, memories, are the best I've ever had in a game. The social aspect is still a big draw, and the guild i'm in now (AP) is deffiantly the best I've been in, and I have met great people in it. I know that when I think of my computer game playing days, these days, Guild Wars will be there, and no matter what comes next, what Oblivion style graphics come about, PS£ type gmaes/graphics, clearing out the hall of skale will be the fondest memory I have of a computer game. Looking up into the infinity of gold and green and blue and white and on and on it went and on and on i go, in GW. And here i stop.
EDIT:
Best event, in my view, has been the Halloween event, Is still drink Squahs Serum, let out the occasional ghost (just to see people say WTF?) and wear my crown in outposts and towns. ANd the Dragon's arena was really fun. But Halloween is by far and away the best, and the Mad King is returning!! All Hail the Mad King. Anyway I'm off to bed. Here I stop.

Doing ALL quests in post searing ascalon I could find on my first char. Ruins Of Surmia was blinking on the map, but I had no idea what it meant, and I thought I had already completed it. Almost quit the game there, getting stuck so early in such a boring area. I must have spent weeks there :P
And then reaching yak's.. I love snowy areas, I was so happy when I got there. Oh, and pressing M the first time I got out of presearing: "WOOOOOOW THIS IS HHUUUUGE"
-The first time I did RoF chain missions was with my monk. Later I did them with my warrior, and I didn't recognize any of them, I had only been staring at red bars..
-The christmas event. All the presents and items were so much fun, and the towns, the snowball arena. I was getting bored with the game, but that event pushed me back into addiction.

I have played since the retail release of Prophecies, and I love the game. Good to bad, it is still awesome to me.
My first happy memory was meeting my first guildie and officer, Finnbarr. He doesn't play as much anymore, but it was a good night in Pre Searing when I met him.
Later, when I finally made the money for the guild cape and went to Post Searing, I met my 2nd and 3rd officers, Wolfy and Epoxy. Wolfy is still their with me, even his wife plays now, but Epoxy has left...
One good story I have was when Wolfy hit me up on the whisper to help him do the bonus to Riverside province. I had Sirot only then. So, I show up with my W/E, barely beating the mission at that time and fresh in the desert.
His group had no warriors but me, since the last set of warriors bailed on them, and they wanted to get someone that was reliable. They were surprisingly upset when I arrived, me not knowing that they had tried 4 times and each time the warriors left them each time when the going got rough.
They asked Wolfy"He isnt going to leave, is he?"
Wolfy only said,"Sirot never leaves." I was the proudest keyboard jockey ever that day.
So, into the mission. I have to say, that was one of my greatest warrior outings to date. Even now,I have had successes, but none like that.
During a particularly tough scrap by a tower, I was in the grass surrounded by 4 White Mantle Gaurds, and With my Shocking Fellblade, enchanted with Conjure Lightning, Killed all 4 almost at the same time. To watch all 4 drop simultaneously was so movie like...
Wish I took that screenie
The day my buddy,Johnny Dragonmaster took me over the wall for the first time in Pre is another standout day in my GW memory.
He was standing on the bluff before we reached the Charr, Ki La la, his stalker close to his side, and telling me all about the Charr. their weaknesses, their habits, and their way of attacking. He was like the dam Beastermaster...LMAO!! I died alot that day, but I had fun. Johnny doesn't play anymore either...
Good Times, indeed.
Now,I have 6 great officers, but if I started to tell all my happy moments,I would never stop typing. I might make a thread for this on our website.
I still love GW. It is a great game, and a great world to live in. Even Factions...awesome time to be a gamer!

I bought Prophecies just before the first Wintersday (or only??) holiday, so I was welcomed into the game with the most wonderful impression. I met a lot of people in my first couple weeks playing because all that was going on were general festivities and everybody was involved.
Aside from that, I think buying my first piece of 15k armor, because I never thought it would happen. Finding my first maxed gold item, and recently, my first maxed Celestial Longbow, the only weapon I've wanted in the game for the last 3 months haha.
Joining my first active guild, and occasionally PvPing, was fun but my computer has always been so slow. However, there are some times when my computer runs better than most other times, and one example was during a GvG battle, and just being able to experience the battle without any lag was very enjoyable. But we won, and that was the best part. Since then I have been eager to enjoy more PvP, but, my computer has unfortunately slowed even more ... sigh.
The discovery of the Shiverpeak mountains was a treat too. I've always loved that region of Prophecies, and always will. Factions just doesn't compare to the first joy of exploring a new-found-world. Albeit nice to look at, I find Factions got increasingly repetitive, and the only real region I liked was deep into the Echovalds.
Nightfall looks promising though. I can't wait.

Favorite moment was yesterday when I won HoH for the first time. I only had 12 fame when I did it too! And I still do. It was my second day playing in Hero's Ascent. I happened to be first in the party list so my character name was announced all across GW. I got a screen shot(and a celestial sigil).

Oh boy so many good memories in this game...
I really enjoy thinking back to the first time I played through the game, getting level 20 by acctually doing the missions. Then I'll never forget going back and makin' money for my droks armor by running people beacons -> kryta with my necro Also the first time I went into fissure was awesome, got to forgemaster no sweat...i still remember the tactic, the monks would prot up the warrior, he'd agro, and i'd N/E nuke with two other echo nukers, and spam blood rit on the nub 55 monk :P And then there were my balanced spikes, oh boy were those fun! First hoh win and i was the solo monk will also be an unforgettable event Man there are so many things, my first time soloing underworld (right after the freakin' prot bond nerf but before nightmares were put in) it felt awesome takin on level 29's by myself. ahh nostalgia

helping a friend and random pugs at dragon's lair with my warr... i took doylak siggy (and to this day i still can't figure out why i did it in the first place) and we said we'd try bonus... first time i killed glint... and with pugs as well...
Mr.Deflok
Mine was doing the final 2 Glint Quest's... we died soooo many times (healers jumped) and every single one of us had 60% DP but we kept going for hours. I even called work to say I was going to be late because of how much fun we were having. By the end of it we all lined up and took screenshots of us dancing over the corpses of the bosses we had just defeated.
Everyone in that group was merry and cheerful, determined and patient - everything you need in a group.
Heh, such an old pic - armor is so much sweeter now.

Being asked to become guild leader
Finally after 9 months getting 1000k in storage, then spending all of it on 4 Faction Characters
Maybe surprisingly, fond memories of many a good PUG

One of my highlights was first making the ladder.
I started playing back in July 2005 with a couple of friends. We were total noobs, but we wanted to some day compete in GvG. We all started PvEing and playing random arenas to train and to recruit other members. After about a month of practice, we decided we were ready to GvG.
That was before the days of observer mode, so we debated about our build for literally weeks. We finally decided to run a hundred blades sword warrior, a hammer warrior, a water/smite emo, a punishing shot ranger, a curse necro, two edrain heal monks, and a bonder. A shockingly advanced build considering none of us had ever gvged, but you may notice one thing we forgot -- a runner. None of us had any idea what the flag did so we just ignored it.
In our first GvG, we played a rank 500 guild. We were so intimidated to play someone so high ranked that we got lost on the way out of our guild hall and never did find the flagstand. We ended up fighting the other team just outside our base and got smashed. Things looked grim as they pulled into our base, but we ressed and attacked with the fury of a hundred paladins. In what is easily the fiercest fighting I had ever done in GW, we broke the offensive and pushed them out of our base. I can still remember the intensity and excitement as we beat them back. It took us a while to figure out how to get into their base (thief? what thief?) but eventually they let us in and we got the win. It was such a rush I have been addicted to GvG ever since.
Over the next few days, we played a flurry of GvGs, ending with a 26-8 record, 1212 rating.....and rank 996 on the ladder. We were so happy we reached our goal! I can still remember the celebration we had in our guild hall to be on the ladder for literally only hours before it reset. Since then I've been a member of many top 100 guilds and even earned playoff spots/silver cape a few times, but I've never been more proud of anything in GW than earning top 1000 that season.
Here is a screenie of us in action:

I have several fond memories although at the the time one or two weren;t so nice. Like way back in the pre-release betas when I didn't know my head from a hole in the ground.. My gf and I and a couple of pug ppl took 2 1/2 hrs to finish ranik.. got finish and did a quest outside Frontier gate only to come back in ahd have Gwen toast everyone.. Now days I can just about solo with any character thru that mission in about 20 minutes.
I think the first great feeling of accomplishment was also back in the early days right after release when we cleared the charr out of pre-searing for the very first time.. It was a really nice feeling taking those screenshots posing over the bosses corpses...lol
More recently I think one of the coolest things was taking a pug thru Thirsty River.. We had a few people in the group swear ing we were doomed to failure because we had no tanks or something, but we absolutely rolled thru the place without slowing down and also got the bonus.
And lastly I finally got a damned Survival title on my newest Ranger.. I usually die at least once or twice by like lvl 10 and didn;t even pat attention til she was like lvl 17 and hadn;t died yet. managed to hench my way to 20 without any deaths and had a little help from my gf.. Hope she can make the next level just as long as I don;t leave anyone hanging in a group I'm in.. Title isn;t worth being an ass..

My Most Memorable exprience is when I first ascended and when I forst started Playing GW back in BWE.I really like the day when I made my first char up I wouldn't mind haveing it back and going to post not knowing there were henchies as I did the quests solo.
Sair
Waaaay back during E3 for everyone. When I went wandering around in that SP area and saw the Great Northern Wall for the first time. It just seemed so huge.
Second is finishing that attribute point quest in the desert. Just finished fighting our way across the desert, and ended up at one of the best vistas in the game.

Getting Protector of Tyria with my monk. It only took me a year and some change :P (I took about eight months off.)
Running through Tasca's Demise with some henchies to cap SoJ, a Siege Golem dropped a Shiverpeak Key, and about 50 feet from the battle was a chest. So I pick up the key, run over and open the chest, and voilà, a max 15^50 gold FDS. On a side note, one of my worst GW memories is putting that same sword on a PvP character so I could feel cool, then deleting that character without taking the sword off him >.<
