Where are BiP necro's utilized
romeus petrus
The BiP necro build, usually in conjunctions with OoP, is required (almost essential) for Urgoz Warren. For those who never been there its not easy to understand why. Those of you who have been there and watched how in the some areas the only means of keeping the party alive is for monks to stay far away from the rest of the team and constantly spam HP, this is an easy thing to understand. Most monks in Urgoz warren will not join a tream without a BiP and for a very good reason. And no, BR is not enough. this simply isn't TotPK.
Having said that, The BiP/OoP build used in Urgoz is a very specific build that I can't think of any other place where it is currently in use.
I have been playing a 55 BiP/OoP in Urgoz for the past 5 months, only stopped after NF release and I can say very confidently that it is essential for the traditional BP grp there.

A two monk bacline works perfectly fine in Fire Chain missions, as well as FoW. If the monks need BiP in either of those missions, then either you have bad monks, or the rest of the group is bad. I haven't been to an 8-player UW party in nearly a year, and haven't been to the deep. I can see how it might work out well in a Deep Build, but from what I've seen of the UW, it isn't vital there either.
Deep groups aside, I'd much rather see other elites on a necro, specificly ones that aid him/her in boosting the damage output of the party, and this is comming from someone who plays a monk.

It's the Elementalists who deals the damage there, so BiP would be more useful than SS and other stuff. However, when you are trying to kill Kanaxai, bring a N/Me for some SS/Price of Failure and other melee disabling action. I doubt you ever need one because the Warriors + Meteor Showers keep Kanaxai KD'd.
I can see OoP or OoV useful in The Deep, but you are better off bringing a BiP.
And for Urgoz, wouldn't you want a OoV over OoP?

This is correct. Or at least it was before the AI updates for Nightfall. For people to even consider that an elementalist does more damage (pretty much any kind of damage, spiking, AoE, DPS, whatever) than a necro makes me wonder if they have ever played both characters. An SS necro is a much better nuker than an ele and has better cast times, better recharge, better e-management, and no exhaustion to boot. Plus as LordLucifer pointed out, there are other side benefits to the necro. While the eles whole skillbar is taken up with nuking and e-management, even a nuking oriented necro can still be versatile.
And I agree with LL. If I ever had to delete all but one character, I'm keeping my necro. They can just do so many different things. And are simply a ball to play.

I was referring to post-Nightfall update. AOE scatter had always been a concern of Ele so it doesn't matter since most skills have long CD's anyway. However, for a Nec, SS scatters, so it's no longer a good AOE nuking spells for monster counts more than 3.

You can't bring BiP and OoV ( 2 elites) and bringing one necro for each skill is really a waste of a slot in the team, and as you guys know OoV and ooP do not stack. Thats why most successful groups in Urgoz take one necro who is both BiP and OoP, a second necro MM is optional but highly desireable by most groups.

I thought he meant a OoV nec and a BiPnec, but yeah, I can see OoP and BiP mix build for more efficiency.

An SS necro, in the right situation, can make 160dps look like childs play. Plus, SS ignores armor and ele spells generally do not.

If you give a hero BiP why don't give him Death Nova too? They just sac themselves with BiP IMO.

I agree with you that any decent BiP build is not something a hero can pull.

Searing flame will put a whole new use for BiP necros. 3-4 elee spamming searing flame on a mob with a BiP necro taking care of their energy needs would cause insane amounts of dmg, something in the range of 700-800 each every 10 seconds (even if the mob moves arround a bit, but not counting AL). I see this strategy being poplular in the new NF elite mission.

Which will be implemented soon hopefully xD
