a noob question
hippo942
what are u actually meant to do in this game as all i done is run around and get killed by random things
Mournblade
Well first of all, have you read the box or the manual? That should give you a pretty solid understanding of your purpose.
But in general there are two sides to the game - player versus player competition (PVP) and player versus environment (PVE or roleplaying).
PVP is pretty self-explanatory, and PVE is where you run around and get killed by random things. Eventually you kill some of them back and take any treasure they drop. You gain levels, learn skills, buy better armor and weapons, and that allows you to get killed less and go farther in the game. The game has a storyline you need to follow to defeat 'the bad guy' at the end.
Enjoy/

Ever played a normal RPG, or any MMO before..?
Getting killed is bad, you must kill those things that are killing you, by playing smarter.

this game you go around kill lots of things, get gold, then spend it on useless stuff

Which game are you playing, Prophecies or Factions?
Look for people with a ! over their heads, they have a quest for you. Once you accept their quest an entry is made for it in your quest log ("L" key) and if you select it the radar will point in the general direction you need to go and the world map will indicate where in general it is located. Eventually a green star will show on the map to indicate the quest's destination.
A primary quest will lead to a mission which leads to another mission or quest.

I have a "noob" question too.
How can I merge accounts? Do I need to install the new chapters too or do I need only to type in the key?
And another silly question: do I need to install the chapters in the same folder or not?
Sorry for my tiring questions but I want to be sure about these....

You only need to install 1 version of GW. It'll download whenever you need files. Just add the key to your account ( somewhere in account options, easy to find ).

if you ave two separate accounts already established they can't be merged. Say you bought prophcies, started it, then bought factions and instead of installing the CD key on the prophcies, you wanted all of the 4 charachter slots, you installed it seperately. No intercontinental travel, No merge If you have two games say prophecies already installed and nightfall to be installed (due in 2 days) launch GW and install the CD key from the prompt below the login bar and you will have both games on one account, you will be able to travel between continents for all characters new and old.
I rambled I know hope it helps

I'm planning a merge soo...does it mean that I only need to type in the key from the new chapters (ordered Prophecies & Nightfall) and so I don't have to install them? Good to know!
Thanks a lot! :-)

If you get CD's then you might as well install them to lessen what gets downloaded via the streaming content. Just be sure to add them to your existing account, don't create a new account.

Then I'll install only Prophecies
And that downloading is as fast/slow as during the preview event in September?

Depending on your connection, it shouldn't take too long. Of course if you have dial up, it could take forever.
