Ive made myself a monk about 3 weeks ago. Level 20, ascended yesterday, got a few elites, decent build. But, I know some teams can be treacherous [sp]. But mostly there is ONE guy who screws it up.

But is it really that guy.. or is it that profession?

I mean, playing a monk is hard, damn hard in the... hard missions and quests. But the question is.. Would you rather have a Noobish Warrior on your team, or a Noobish 'Sin? A Noobish Ranger, or a Noobish Nuker?

Post your thoughts

I prefer no noobs.

But I guess a noobish ranger wouldn't be THAT bad. He has ok AL, stays in the backline, doesn't scatter with eoe ( unless using it's secondary , or traps ).

usually, its the war or assasin, but not because everyone playing the class are retards, simply because they ARE melee and have the most dangerous part, messing up as unexperienced player is easy there - you cant really do that with a Ranger, except if you run in using Throw Dirt, run in placing Traps and whatnot, but thats not too common.

I'm less concerned with a noobish assassin, simply because he's most likely to kill himself through his actions. A noobish warrior, on the other hand, can happily train a large aggro right onto the backline... and that just wont do

A warrior's errors can easily be the biggest, as his job comes first; he has to set the stage for the rest.

Noobish monk, because usually they also have noobish inflated egos, and let people die. Then somehow place the blame on you, even though you've been doing most of the healing.

I don't like warriors in my groups, I prefer not to have them, rarely can they hold aggro, if they do run in after being told to GO IN NOW! They run back to the backline and get me almost killed!

I would rather have a Noobish Assassin or noobish Ranger.

A noobish Elementalist could really be bad (too man exhaustion spells, castinging the wrong spells at the wrong time, etc). A noobish Warrior, as Avarre stated, is really bad since they are the "first contact".

A good warrior makes a huge difference, but a bad one can be compensated for with an MM.

A good ranger or mesmer makes some difference, but a bad one can be hard to compensate for.

A good nuker (read: SS necro) makes a big difference, a bad one can be compensated for with good warriors.

Assassins make no difference. Take a warrior.

Ooh lots of replies. I agree, i had a noobish monk with me yesterday in the Dunes of Despair. He used breeze, orison, and heal party. Orison and Party are good skills, but he only used those.. I mean, christ, get dwaynas kiss or something xD

Yeah i hear that warrior thing. Every time that warrior [slowly] gut under 80% HP he ran backwards onto us. He was the only guy who died. [I got dazed xD]

I would hate to have a bad Mesmer on the team, as they require a good player to contribute anything to the team and are only dead weight in the hands of someone that doesn't know what the heck they are doing. Bad warriors at least can auto-attack. Bad rangers can at least barrage and the inevitable pet soaks up a little damage. Bad Nukers can at least cast fireball. But a clueless mesmer isn't going to contribute much.

your all talking about having n00bs in your teams. the worst thing about n00bs is that they either leave at the start, when you res them they leave or n00bs dont bring res into a game i mean seriously. theres 2 option bring res or die

Healing is the backbone of any group success, whether it's self-heals (like a healing-hands war) or totally on the backs of monks. Casters not being a able to kite damage or notice when they are surrounded by warriors, just doesn't bode well. If you have a ranger, tightly packed groups should always be pulled, if not the next best method is to wand aggro, sending a tank in with that sort of situation always tends to spell disaster.

I honestly don't think any one proffession is the best or worse (noob or pro) to have on a team. Typically if you're going with an organized group, you know what your healing status is before you get set, you know whats most affective and how the team will most likely work together. Many times i know things are going to go bad from the start when you have a war spamming GOGOGOGOGO. No monk can totally heal stupidity and a war that thinks he can tank everything with no stances or self heals whatsoever is a dead warrior, a caster that just HAS to get off metshower while 3 wars and a ranger pound them into the dirt, simply has it comming

I know, and that is a valid point, but if there had to be ONE noobish member on your team.. what proffession? And GTFO HH Warrior.
