Mad King - Friend or Foe?

Anyone else think its odd that the Halloween event starts exactly the same time that Nightfall goes live? If you look at the newest Wednesday Wallpaper, the Mad King definately looks more sinister than last year. Maybe it has to do with the desolation-style (presumably) background rather than the candy corn golems and Lions Arch.. (i hope the CC Golems return!)

..point is, do you think the Mad King will have anything to do with Nightfall's opening story?- it is taking place in Kamadan too, so a lot of people who didnt attend the preview event will see the city the first time while its decorated for Halloween. Maybe the mad king will help us push back the darkness, kind of similar to the mini-game for saving the town ala Dragon Fest where you gather the celestial globs.

I wonder if there will be any difference in the Event for people in Kamadan vs Lions Arch... will we all get the same headgear, quests, collectables, etc?

Im very excited for the Event, I think they probably spent more time working on this event than any of the ones we've seen yet- its the opening of NF after all. I hope the Mask is as cool as last years, I did the event but didnt know to hang around the Mad King for the pumpkin hat- and Im not making that mistake this time through.

And there's nothing odd about the timing of the release and one has nothing to do with the other. It's just coincidental that they chose to release Nightfall around Halloween.

No I don’t think the Mad King has anything what so ever to do with the any story line. I’m sure that if they planed Nightfall release better to where it didn’t over shadow Halloween then the event would have started Sunday or Monday and lasted to the following weekend like last year.

The Mad King has NOTHING to do with the main stories. The Mad King is an event short story, nothing more.

Yeah that wallpaper is pretty nice, also he has nothing to do with the main story. Definetly gonna use that Wallpaper for a while
