Templates are a very new feature and most people don't understand how it works, so if any one could post any info about them it would be awesome.
When a template is made it is saved as a text file to your hard drive, which inside hosts a single string of letters, numbers, and symbols.
So it acts like most any other file, I have no idea if you can send a file to someone via email or via sending the code in the text file.
So like I said any info would be appreciated.

and Kakumei, if you were to email me a template and i put that in my GW directory then I would be able to use it, asuming I have the unlocked skills? |
Edit: On that note, I could simply just post the character string here, and you could save it in a .txt file to your computer. They made them easy to share on purpose.
GW site says that if you swap a template with someone and a person doesn't have the skills then they will be greyed out on the skill bar. Also mentioned that if person A has done the attribute point quests, but person B hasn't, if person B uses person A's template, then the attributes will automatically be scaled down.
I hope that makes sense.

That's not the point... lots of people are gullible enough to just randomly install something they think is safe, especially if the Guildwars website mentions getting them offline... all someone has to do is join a guild, register on there forums, get people e-mails and start sending them out.
"omgfz look guys my new solo urgoz build!!!!"
attatched file:Solo Urgoze template.zip
It just opens up a new device to trick people with.

Please put in a build naming filter that disallows the use of special characters that aren't allowed in normal windows filenames (such as '/'). Right now you can use them in the build template name, but the file and the templates manager listing ignores that character (and probably other specials too, if that's the way it works). Just don't allow a build to be saved until the name of it is using all filename-friendly characters.
Also, what about having some sort of template manager list refresh option? If I go and delete a template file manually, the list still has it there. Not a big concern here (that's something I wouldn't do much if at all anyways), just a suggestion for better efficiency.

I agree, TideSwayer. The icons do look a little... off. Just nitpicky I guess.
But still, I've already saved 5 templates for my Ranger. Just my Ranger. You have NO idea how happy it makes me that I never ever have to remember those @#$@ builds again. God bless you, A.Net!
[EDIT] I say we give this "copy text file" thing a go. Someone try this out on a R/Mo: AyQxTs4lzao6HvYhTbjvZZC

I'm also reeeeeeally loving this. Now when I switch builds, I just have to remember to switch armor and weapons. Before when I had to switch everyone, I'd sometimes forget something. Or sometimes not even bother switch builds because it's a hassle to do it manually each time. I also like not having to go to Senji's Corner or the main PVP outpost to change secondary profession.
