New rare crafting material: Diamond

Took a look on the material storage and to my surprise they've added a new rare crafting material: Diamonds. Seems like there's gonna be a usage for rubies and sapphires afterall.

Bump. This is quite interesting. Maybe 'gems' in general will have a purpose meaning that sapphires and rubies will be of use.

I'm 95% sure there is going to be a use for Rubies, Saphires and Diamonds. I'm going to buy a ton of rubies and saphs before they skyrocket.

Pffft. I doubt that they would make a use for sapphires and rubies but still keep the horribly low drop rate that they have now or not have some way for people to gain them easily (i.e. Luxon/Kurzick faction for jade/amber). Meaning that sooner rather than later, the prices on both will drop.

If they never planned for rubies and sapphires to be used, then they would have taken them out of the game. Look at what they did to mud bricks. Sooner or later rubies and sapphires will have a use, and with the implementing of diamonds I'll guess sooner rather than later.

The frog mentioned recently ingame that they indeed are planning a use for gems.

Gaile said she didn't know of a use in NF, but is sure that there will be a use "soon."

Gems will probably make good Caster Weapon items.

mb gems will be used for 15k armors or mb we'll get 3 more realms of gods and "new fow" armor will require gems we'll see soon

As for the diamonds, I'd love to see them used in armor. Imagine diamond earings on a mesmer, drool.

Maybe Diamonds/Gems will be used to craft some nice yewelery...

We can only hope... I know I accually am. I would like to make my characters a little more customizable than just armor and face. Of course, jewelery will be for looks only.

If diamonds, sapphires, and rubies are used, they better become a lot easier to find/get.
