Ecto prices

anyone have any rough ideas how much ecto prices are gonna raise to due to the nerfing of uw farming.

hard to say since most players will probably be focused on Nightfall for the next 2-3 weeks...When factions came out ecto fell considerably. i wouldn't expect a strong rise in price till after that when players begin buying for their Dervish/Paragon chars.

I love the update. FoW armor will finally become again some prestige thingy. But I also see the first Solo/Duo Builds and yes the prices will probably rise.

FoW armour isn't a prestigious thing since the farming sweatshops came into business and started selling gold on ebay, any kiddie that was willing to pay his/her parents hard earned money on shit would go after it and then have the audacity to call him/herself pro, there are too many ppl out there that use the "pro" term too loosely, for example I was with a "pro" monk in UW, didn't have a wand in a 2ndry weapon set just a razajans fervor and had the audacity to call me noob (learn to wand ya git) not only that he was always crying for energy cause he had both essence and balt spirit, yea he was a "pro", a professional pain in the arse... On that "pro" principle I refused to get Obsidi armour. As soon as someone posts a new build for farming it will be back to normal, to those farm builders learn to keep your fingers off the k/b occassionally and just share with someone you can trust instead of plastering it all over the place. Sure its good to be recognised for a build but is the prestige of saying "Thats my build" really worth nerf after nerf after nerf?
Sure I've reaped some of the benefits from others builds and some have reaped the benefits from 1 or 2 of my builds, but thats a mute point now and I have to fine tune a few things.
To those pro's that have got Obsidi armour grats but I still think it looks like a POS.

what about my own hard-earning money? 90% of the ppl in my guild are over 23 my guildleader is 32. we dont leet on our parents

You have to read between the lines my friend, I specifically said kiddie, but if you hold yourself in that catagory then far be it from me to argue..

If your guild is mostly adults, then you understand why FOW armor is pointless.

There is so much new possibility now.

Sadly so many cry-baby's saying their farming is destroyed now, it isn't, but the botfarming has recieved a blow tho but I'd take a human over a bot anyday .

And materials, dye's, ... have always been something like the stockmarket, and it will remain like that.

Spread out your investments, farming, ... and you'll be fine when you adept to see the new possibilities



And I have never found a good reason to obtain a fow armor since I find some other combo's alot nicer anyway. The same with the color, it doesn't have to black you always dye stuff. Be yourself.

Might get up to the 15-17k range, but they will soon drop again.

FoW is useless it's a well known fact but people still buy it and will continue to do so.

I think people will be buying the new 15k armor from Nightfalls for a while and the prices probably won't move too much. But you can never tell. With all the asian farmers 55 monks builds being nerfed, you will see the prices of ebay gold go thru the roof thus gold should become more valuable & the economy 'should' deflate some thus you won't need as much gold to buy stuff.

The only other thing I think we deserve is a loot system we can have some control over, like being able to set loot to alphabetical order or loot to leader so you can do raid with your guild or trusted people & maybe have some raid point system so that guilds have another way to distribute loot.

I'm sure builds will adjust accordingly, but the ai is now way to smart for any 2 man team. I've run the dual smite and the 55 2 man builds in uw and neither of them will ever work that way again (so it seems). The aataxes stop atacking targets they can't kill and if the party gets to close, breaks aggro from the tank and runs at the group. When we did manage to clear out the first area, with a 4 man party btw, there were a total of 6 nightmares, which made 55ing next to impossible beyond the smarter ai. So will ectos go up? Absolutely! I think full 8 man teams will have a bit of a struggle in the uw given it's current state. Last i checked ectos went up to 12k and they were still climbing.

Err guys the price of ectos is likely to raise because of the nerf, but it's also very likely to decrease because of NF. Everybody will sell again their ectos to purchase the new fancy armors/weapons/etc as they did with Factions (the price was around 5K then - it even dropped to 4.5K). So I really don't know how SS and AV/SV nerf will affect the price.

It'll go up, then down again. It always does when Anet do something to nerf the rate of gain of ecto. Panic buying ALWAYS sets in.

If insignias can be changed on the fly then Elonian armor will rule especially since the 'no armor switching' in pvp. People will be salvaging their FOW.

ok, I ve been away for 3 days and I seem to be missing a lot of things ,whats all this about farming being nerfed ( more ??), people salvaging fow, and etc ? anyone got a link to a thread cuz I dont know what to write in search lol

With the 10/25 update do you think ecto prices will go up? I feel they will get between 10k and 15k.

Will shards go up?

I hope they go back up to 16k, FOW was more expencive and almost a status symbol

Well considering that the common means of obtaining ecto is gone, I'd hazard a guess that they will, 10-15k eh maybe. As for shards I think they will rise a couple k. If only because nukers and SS necros are going to make trips take longer :P

Shard farming has taken no hits in terms of monster AI so my educated guess is that they will still hover between 3-4k.
