Sorry, all these whining threads are really getting on my nerves, but some people really need to start waking up and realizing that monk/SS farming is not the only type of farming that works. Am I the only one that has not forgot that UW trapping groups still work just fine? Sure farming might be a little slower, but it's not going to end because of this.

Personaly I hate Solo farming, because it goes against the idea of an online game, if you enjoyed solo farming more than the teamwork part, then GW is not the game for you. When I heard about the nerf, I was tempted to put a white suit on and dance on farming's grave.

Well I "farmed" yesterday, just two and one quick runs to try something out. While I noticed enemies fleeing I thought this was due to new approaches or some glitch. Didn't realize it was due to the patch.
As everything worked out I can't really say "faming is dead". Not at all. Found it even neat and more challenging.

There will be no other way, its not just certain skills that have been nerfed but also the way enemies drop. Besides Anet made a statement that they dont like farming therefore they want to loose it all together. So yes, no more farming. Oh and for the record, I use a lot of original builds that most people have not seen or heard of before and I still cant get anything to drop for me.

I have tried solo, duo, 4, and 8 man teams. Nothing is dropping anymore.

I already have a build that doesn't involve AoE dmg, that I can farm up to 10 melee enemies at a time in cantha. I was successful in farming jade brotherhood with it and will test outside of mataau keep to farm kirin and undergrowths. Testing vermin farming as well.

I dont FoW or UW farm, I tried it a few months ago but didn't enjoy it. I stick to Chest Runs, Green farms, and rune farms.

Except for one minor thing, my undead farming (which doesn't use AoE skills) remains unchanged. The only difference now is skeleton monks try to keep a far distance from me at all times. Other caster types, such as sorcerers and warlocks, sometimes do as well but not always.

All I can say is, if they want to nerf solo farming then they'd better increase drops for people in groups. Fissure armor already costs a fortune. If duo UW is no more, then it's going to cost about 10 million gold to buy all the materials for it.

Get over it. Your armor is ugly anyway; why not spend that money on stuff that isn't worthless and makes you look like a total loser. When I see FoW armor; I imagine a fat pimply kid with greasy hands, sucking down mountain dew and stuffing his face with hot pockets controlling the character. For the most part; this is true 60% of the time. 39% is fat pimply kids with greasy hands with an ebay account. I would say only 1% of the Fissure of Crap Armor-wearers aren't complete nerds.

I love how this game is supposed to be about team play, but SS was my favorite build to use in PvE (with a team) and I can no longer use it. Couldn't they find some way to nerf farming without ruining my favorite way to play PvE?

Granted I like THIS game over WoW because I can play it more or less single player. I dislike being dependant on a group of humans that all have their own way of doing things is generally the suck. I liked being able to go about things on my own as I oplease not needing to stand around for hours going "LFP..."

I don't farm, and the way I like to play was ruined. I loved playing SS with groups, not to farm, but to get through missions. When the developers start ruining legit ways to play the game is when I hit the road and find something else to play. Glad I heard about this before I ran out and bought Nightfall.

It surprises me that people still play this game. As soon as people find something they like to do, it get's ripped away. As much as it pains, I am starting to get very tempted to give WoW a whirl.

SS is the new Meteor Shower. That got nerfed a while ago for similar reason.
Of course, on that note, Meteor Shower is garbage now because everything runs around so much it'll probably land off in the middle of nowhere and hit one enemy once. Mark of Rodgort + Fireball, on the other hand, is awesome now.

Enough ripping on farmers. Some people like to farm and acquire cool-looking items. That fact that you might not agree with them does not invalidate their desire to do this.
Also, the argument that "L0L FOW ARMOR LOOKS G4Y SO GET OVER IT NUBZ ZOMG LOLZ" is ignorant as well as pointless. ANet put FoW armor in this game so people could get it. Period. If people want it, they should have reasonable means of getting it. Solo/duo farming of FoW and UW made it relatively affordable, but still very expensive and sought after. If ecto drops don't increase to match the increased difficulty of getting them, then the price of fissure armor is going to be seriously inflated, which I don't see as being a good thing. Not to mention those of us who used ectos as a means of income for affording things besides fissure armor... If they really want to promote team play over solo farming, they should make the quality of drops scale with the number of players/NPCs in your group. There, problem solved.

People bought their game, and if they choose to spend all their time farming, then so be it. The nerf means it'll take a week or two before the new uber-farming build comes out and everyone copies it, and then a few months before Anet nerfs it. The cycle continues.
