Found "new" dyes (beside white/brown) .. or bug?

I have some stacks of dyes in my storage and got a few drops of "new" one.. "new" green, "new" orange... color of dye in vial is visible darker than my dyes from storage and new vials dont stack with my old ones...

So, for example, I have now "light green" dyes (my old ones) and "dark green" dye (my new one)...

Bug?

White and brown are new dye drops. The also changed the art for the dye... Though I don't like it much.

These are two pairs of vials - two greens and two oranges - they dont stack. On the left are dyes from my storage (old ones), on right side are dyes dropped today - seems like darker version of "original" colors.

They changed dye drops so that now they drop darker version from dye (Makes sense when you think white dye).

well... still what about black? i have now two versions of it... :/

Don’t know, but it would nice for the dyes to stack instead of have to waste 2x the amount of space with the pre patch & post patch dyes.

Hopefully Anet will fix this or give us some more insight what is going on with this.(just would have to update all the old dyes) We know it can be done

There was always a white and brown dye color. But before, you weren\'t able to find them on drops, like you can now.

New dye cannot stack with old...end of story
Merch, use or sell old dyes first.

Yes we know this by now but still it sucks that they don't stack..... end of story.

I wonder what happened to people that had pre-mixed dyes that they sold? This will hurt all the dye traders that were skilled & crafty enough to be able to mix dye well.....I tried to mix my dye before applying it, it no longer works that way, you get the 4 slots & get to preview it, but I think this may limit the colors we will be able to get now.

Also, there is no more dye remover that I could tell...the merch & dye traders had none.

As for storage, it absolutely sucks anyhow, you should get additional off character storage for each toon you have....I have 7 now, Proph (4), Fact (2) Extra I bought (1) and I will be adding 3 more with NF & the preorder extra slot....some people may only play 1 or 2 toons, but I enjoy jumping around from my various characters fairly frequently. The problem I have is I like to store stuff I may need for my other characters, for guild/alliance members and also like to keep stuff so I can auction it on the guru auctions....so essentially, for each new toon you get, you get exponentially less 'extra' storage & moving stuff off one toon & to another gets really irritating. Yes, many people probably don't have a problem with this, but to me it is a problem since I'm a pack rat. I also keep most collector items so that I will be able to get free armor on my other toons when they are leveling up to save gold...my collector items filled up one toon easily with 2 runed bags & a belt pouch. Then my warriors weapon rack is quite large as well seeing that I have different axes for undead, trolls, plants, ebon, fire, ice, vampiric, greens, customized ones I built, lol.....then there are the 3-4 shields, then the 4-5 helms & stoneskin guantlets.....sheesh....

I SO wish they would let have have a 'bag of holding' so that we could keep our storage the same, but you could put bags in EACH slot in storage & each bag could still hold 5 or 10 items as they do now.....and also give us the ability to name them...so we could have "W/Mo Gear", "Ranger Gear", "Dye", "Weapon Mods" etc.....

I logged in and all my old dye had changed to the new art, so it might be a bug

Oooo now the old dye can be sold for nostalgia. Just like those runes that are superior with minor skin.

I doubt it, the old dye looks different now, it's not just the new dye that looks different.

Also, the Silver & Gray leave something to be desired, they should have made the silver look metalic & reflective instead of gray. So be aware, I can see a new scam emerge from this, selling silver & have someone swap gray for it....just watch out for the "changed items" warning when trading.

Hrm, yeah, I ended up with two stacks of each, too; old, and the new that I got as drops or stocked up on before the rush started (not much; I bought maybe 8 of each, but enough to get me by, I'm hoping to actually save up some money for some 15k for my Mesmer in Nightfall).

The silver and gray in the bottles look awfully alike, but I DO like the functionality of them. Gray gives you a chance to wash out a color a little without spending so much, and silver... wow. I previewed it on my Ele's Tyrian armor and I was SO tempted (except it's so bright that it grays out the rest of her clothes!).

So, no conversion of old dyes here, either.

And my mesmer's orange armor changed to yellow (which thankfully still looks sweet).

No, there were not allways white dyes. White is new. S+S+S+Y is a cream to grayish tan color. Not white.

Is the colour any different between the pre-patch and post-patch dyes, or is it just the inventory image? If its the actual colours that have changed then its a good thing i didnt sell my stash of dyes yet. Brown and old purple looks great on my ele. Wonder if it looks the same with new purple.

Perhaps they meant it was in the game loot database but not in any loot tables....

I have a huge collection of old dyes, don't tell me they're all useless now...

Still waiting for a confirmation from anet on the new dye vs old dye ? But no not useless exactly just use them or sell them. I'm hanging on to mine for a while in hopes that it's a bug.
