Techniques to get Nightfall now, not later!

I went to a Frys and asked a guy in software for Nightfall, he said it wasn't in yet. I then asked another guy he checked his computer and said it wasn't listed. A damn female popped up and said she could check the computer and she did and said although the computer said its not here it could be in receiving but not scanned in yet. She went back and found it. Couldn't believe it but a female bested the guys.

I went to Best Buy before this episode. I bought the item online but selected store pickup. Went there and they told me its not scheduled for release till next week. What the damn hell? They refused to go online to check the release date, more than one claimed that they can't sell it. This is despite having confirmation from Best Buy that I could pick it up. Will go back with printout from their own site showing that it is scheduled for release today the 26th.

Anyways on to the tips.

Bring documents...
Proof of release date..
Proof of stock
Proof of order if applicable

Press hard...
Say I want my Damn Nightfall now... your laziness and/or stupidity will not get in the damn way of my goal.
Ask them to check not only their computer but also their receivables that have not been checked in yet.
If at Frys dont stop asking till they do this,,, it is definitely there.
Put Top down pressure on them...ask for their manager... relate your knowledge from this or documentation.

Went back to Best Buy with proof of release date. Talked to a new guy and he went over all the documents then dissapeared. Returned with the game. Good. Too bad they still haven't put the damn game on their shelf. And to be picky only cuz the damn employees made me drive there twice, their ad shows the regular edition labeled as collector's edition.

Not saying they aren't but for a game mostly played by guys I was surprised she was able to get the product over the guys.

Hey, I managed to drop my GameStop reservation and get it at BestBuy. That's just who got it first in this town (Orlando).

I'll tell you what though - in the future, I will be buying from InteractCD. I bought my pre-release bonus pack from them, and those people were very nice about it. They understand our situation with e-retailers and on-time delivery, and I'm sure they also know how hard it is for us to deal with companies that want to sell us the game on the date of release hours after the game goes live. Check them out, they will email you your key right after you buy it, if you ask them to do so, and then whether or not they deliver the box to you is also your choice. It's a small company but every time I've called they've been nice and quick to help. Order over the phone to save time.

I bought Nightfall today at Gamestop - they got it in today and put it on the shelves right away.

I went to Best Buy today, not having preordered it. Saw a display for Nightfall, but it just had empty boxes for "pre-order". Deterimined, I went to their regular PC titales and low-and-behold, there was the SE and CE. Looking over the info now (not trying to be too much a geek in the office). Morale of the story: look in more places.

Went to 2 BB's and the truck hadn't come in and wasn't out. Ebgames truck was in and the guys had just started going through the shipment. So went to Fry's, had like 6 more copys of CE and 20+ copys of the Reg. So i got my CE and i'm happy.

How do you know this? There are a lot of women that play this game. And just because you think more guys play doesn't mean that the guys aren't a bunch of lazy asses who don't want to get up and go look. Always get help from a woman. We will always go the extra mile.

I could be an angry female, or I simply could say that women make better salespeople - which is a proven fact.

Women will go out of their way to help a customer. Men will just check the computer and take it as a god-given truth. I've actually had to ask men to "check-out-the-back" in the past but 9/10 the female sales assistant will volunteer to do so.

The best service I ever got from EB was from a female who didn't game. She did everything she could to get my pre-order. And I do mean literally everything - and guess what? She got it!
And then proceeded to quiz me on what the game was like for future recommendations to customers (because she didn't really game herself).

The coolest sales associate I ever met was this guy (yes, a guy) working at Staples. I was browsing games and it'd been a long day so I went and chilled in some of those nice big leather office chairs they've got at the back. A guy came over, and we chatted about gaming for the next half hour.

And since when is it okay to say that women were better at anything? Last time I checked it sure wasn't okay to say that men were better at anything. Like that episode of the Simpsons! "All I know is that women are as good as men, nobody is better than anybody else, and everybody is the best at everything..." Good times. Those smilies serve to make it completely non-serious though. I'll grant you that.

is ncsoft going to put the game up for sale (cd-key) on thier site or thru the gwstore? if so i would like to just buy it there and play tonight/tomorrow morning at 2:01am without having to drive 45 miles just to go buy it at a store.

I got my wife to pick up my copy today from EBgames here. I called yesterday and they said they were a lot in and only 12 were pre-ordered.

i'm not going to get into the debate over who actually makes better sales people. I'll just say as a man it's a bit harder to tell a woman to go ................ when you don't want what they're selling.

anyway i agree that there's no need to be a total a-hole. If the store doesn't have what you want just go somewhere else.

I say this in part because I've been on the other side of that scenario and I'll tell you there isn't anything better than watching some idiot get all worked up because you don't have what they want in stock. Especially when they ask for a manager and you get to tell them you're talking to one

Oh and trust me, threatening to call corporate usually only gives the clerks something else to snicker about after you leave. To be honest even if you went through all the trouble to speak with corporate, the worst that would happen is that the clerk's boss will ask them what happened and at most give them a verbal warning.

So unless you can prove that the clerk was a total "A" themself, all you've really succeeded in is giving the clerk and now their boss something else to laugh at you about.
