Mark of Rodgort buff, and what it could mean for Barrage rangers.

Mark of Rodgort just got a ridiculous buff.

Energy cost has been reduced to 15, and now it's AoE. That's right, it now has the same AoE as Barrage.
Cast Mark of Rodgort on one monster in a cluster, and you'll be burning the whole cluster with each barrage shot.
Oh, and Conjure Flame just got buffed too (30 second recharge, increased damage).

Barrage + Conjure Flame + Mark of Rodgort = insane AOE damage for PvE.

Discuss.

Except the new AI deliberately does not stay very close.
At the most? You'll be able to pull this off for 1 or 2 shots.

Its a very good idea, but much more ineffective with the new, actually intelligent AI.

Could be nice for Troll Farming. Unsure myself, but they might be weak versus fire damage.

AoE still remains somewhat unchanged in regular PvE and missions. this would be sweet!

Ignite arrows will not work with barrage.

Did a little Stone Kirin/Undergrowth farming yesterday and they do split up occasionally. I noticed if I was in a defensive stance the split off, but when I was not the gathered around me pretty good.

Of course this is a R/Mo build and MoR would be no help here, however....

I ran a build yesterday in RA with MoR and Poision Arrow witha firey bow string and a couple INTS Its a build I've used in the past but with the buff I no longer need to use Glyph Of Energy to save on MoR. My firey bow is a +5 e bow due to the old MoR. the build is now very E friendly.

YAll notice we get +1e on our masks now?

I've tried it out, and I still don't think that it's worth the time and effort put into it. Unfortunately this skill will always be passed up for better ones.

Rodgorts Incantation is also 15 energy now, but that doesn't make it any more viable on anything other than ele primary (or maybe a FC mezzie).

I was meaning the explosion effect it causes will trigger Mark of Rodgort, nothing to do with barrage.
Sorry about my poor wording, hope that clears it up.

Rodgort's Invocation is still 25 energy. No changes were made to that skill in the update.

As for using Mark of Rodgort with Barrage, I'm finding it to be extremely effective so far. Even if the monsters scatter after you cast Mark and start barraging them, all of the monsters are still hexed with Mark for 23 seconds (at 8 fire magic), so you can move from target to target, picking them off one by one and still get the 3 seconds of burning on each of them to go along with your Barrage + Conjure.

In other words, casting Mark once is like casting it 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 (etc.) times because every monster in the AoE will get the full duration of the hex.
Since you'll only be casting Mark once or twice per battle, you'll want to pick your target wisely so you can hex as many monsters as possible with a single cast.
