Quintuple gold rate for challange missions?
Not A Fifty Five
Nobody does challenge missions. No money. Even if you win the ALL TIME BEST you get less money for farming. I think if you multiplied the gold drop rate of dragons throat by 20 it would still be inferior. Anwyays your ideas please

Challenge missions suck... not much more to it then that. Waste of time... unless there are challenge missions in Nightfall, who cares though?

Well let anet take them out then. I'm just saying if anet wants to keep them, this is the only way people will play them.
Rakeman
Are they in Nightfall? If not, I guess Anet realizes they screwed up and they don't think it's worth it to try again.

There is challenge missions in NF it says so on the map that comes with the CE version of the game.

....My impression was "frustrating", "pointless" and you dont gain anything.
I was just left thinking.... why? why are they here other then to try and boost your ego by getting a higher score then someone else.
So yes. perhaps actual physical rewards or benefits from doing them would help.
But in my case, it would have to be something very substantial.

More gold is needed to make these missions worth the time and effort. Even after the AI improvements on the 25th (which I am very glad to see finally go in), one farming run can gain me 10x the cash that I can make in these silly missions.
I have also suggested in the past a "token" based reward system for these missions. When you play them and "win" (by gaining x points, getting x kills, or by lasting x amount of time) you are given a token. These tokens can then be traded in for a unique set of armor (unique to that paticular mission) or unique weapon (again, unique to that mission).
For example; Challenge Mission Dragon's Throat. You gain tokens there and have the option of cashing in those tokens for Plagueborn armor and weapons that are instantly customized to that character.
Anyway, as of now, these missions are like playing the old 80s arcade games. You get your name on a score board that no one looks at and no one cares about... and the "special" ones that are on the score board got nothing for all the effort.

I do think the challenge missions would be better if there was a better incentive than just your name on a list that nobody ever checks......
which means gold/items/mini-pets/titles....ANYTHING!

/signed for some kind of better reward.
I love the concept, and the ones in Factions were really well designed and fun. But everyone ignored them because the payout sucked. It was especially lame when they doubled the faction rewards for AB, Aspenwood, and Jade Quarry but left the challenge missions alone.

I did the challenge missions when they reset the high score a few weeks back. Since the amount of faction and gold you get is based on how close to the high score you are, I was getting nearly 2000 faction in about 10 mins, which for once was actually worth doing.
But it didn't take long for some uber guild team to come along and set the high score to 5x what I get with henchmen, so it was back to 150 faction in 10 mins. Yay \o/

Yeah, it sucks when one really high score skews it. Instead of getting paid based on your score as a percentage of the high score, you should get paid based on the percentile of your score when compared to all scores.
So if the high score is 300, and you score 100, but 100 is better than 90% of all scores submitted, you should get paid 90% of the maximum reward, rather than 33% of the max.
