Hero Battles Rewards - are they serious?

Well, i think that you can hero to hero with guildies that can easly put thier heros in passive with no skills while you pommel them. I don't think that giving higher point rewards for hero v hero is going to be that useful. I think the hero v hero thing is going to be much more geared toward pve ppl that just like to play, then the harder core pvp competitions.

Yes, Hero Battles is PVP like those modes you mentioned, therefore it should give rewards equal to or better than those modes you mentioned; namely, Fame, Emotes, Ladders, and Titles.

Do you even understand the concept of a competitive game? Do you think that player vs. player Starcraft is "not fun" because it offers no reward? What about Street Fighter? Counterstrike?
The top GvG guilds don't care about the titles or emotes. The vast majority of serious PvP players don't even get faction rewards for any of the PvPing they do because they are all UAX already. What we get from high-end PvP is experience and skill, infinitely more valuable than any shiny emote.

Overall the faction now is a reward that benefits PVE jsut as well as PVP as it allows you to unlock skills for Heroes to use in PVE. As far as PVP goes... the bottom line is PVP is for fun the rewards are secondary and most of them were added way after the original release anyways.

People who say PvP players play for no rewards are kidding themselves. HoH you gain fame sigils and gold items, GvG you gain ladder ranking. Both of those you gain massive amounts of faction as well. Those are rewards. Also the best teams in the world play for money at the championships which is yet another reward. Hero battles having so little to offer is the reason so many of these players while thinking the idea is cool overall, will not flock to it.

That's crap. Plenty of people also play RA and TA and those have just as little rewards as Hero battles. And NOT everyone wins halls and still tons of PVP'ers play. Same goes for GvG. I shouldnt even have to say that not everyone makes to the top of the list of the ladder.
My guild for instance has never made the top 20. And yet we love playing GvG.

The reward sucks, yet for some reason it was always full of people playing it... it was amazing how many districts it had.
Oh wait it actually had 3 poeple max in it, usually afk or there for exploration purposes.

I'm sure that the guy who created this thread didn't put any attention that when you win, you get 500 faction. THAT is a lot, I've gotten 20k faction since this morning in there. For players who never wanted to play HA, GvG or wait for groups in other types of PvP, getting 200-500 faction every 5-10 minutes is heaven in order to be able to unlock everything they want.
