Impressions so far

Been up all nite playing and I've gotten thru quite a bit. Time for a mini review of the new changes.
Leveling seems to be somewhere in between Proh and Fac. Not quite as slow as Proh, but nowhere near as fast as Fac. Most of the quests on starter isle are pretty boring, but the game seems to be moving at a pretty good pace. Hero Ai is good, but I'm not happy about having to buy their skills now. I wish they had kept it like in the preview event.
Armor is the is the only real sore spot for me at this point. Of course it's to be expected that mats are going to be more expensive because of the huge influx of new characters, so that doesn't bother me. But this new dye scheme is just plain assinine. I abhore the fact that you will be forced to buy dye now just to get the basic *defualt* color scheme for your class. Why was this done? The preview windows before you dye are cool, and the new colors are awesome (white is obscenely expensive right now) but the fact that you don't even get default colors anymore, just that drab grey, sucks *hard*. Why did they remove the default color schemes? Everyone's going to be buying dye now though, so even farming the inexpensive dyes could prove to be profitable.........
All in all though, I'd say the game is awesome. Well, break time is over. Back to the grind. Hopefully I'll see some of you guys in the game. Have fun!

I can't really speak for low lvl chars since I brought my tyrian char over, so keep that in mind.
I think the environment is gorgeous. It's somewhere between the crystal desert and the wilds, but without all those monsters popping out of the ground (though there are a few areas..)
Heroes are great as expected, just like in the preview event. I just don't know where to get them. I hope they aren't all available only on the starter island, cause leveling them is boring -_-'
and after a certain mission, the game stops. Someone in an outpost told me they put the game on in parts to reduce serverload, which makes sense. Still, it's too early, as there are many people who reached that spot and can't go on.

Quests are already boring the first day? Are there any skill quests atleast?
I'm lookin for a good reason to get the game, so far it's all complaints and no reason to buy it.

I had a Canthan Char with the two Proh/Fact hero unlocks (before it was shut down). I rearranged Olais's skills and had Flesh Golem unlocked from my other MM. First kills, out came Flesh Golem. Only problem was lack of Blood of Master use, they did not last long. None the less, just bringing up the fact that skills from prior chars are unlocked for heros.
I agree that the game looks great so far. I like the fact that lvl 20 may mean something again, with the lower XP quests. Looks good so far. Can't wait to get out of work and go explore more.

Quests are much better than on Tyria and Cantha.

Did anyone see that the hero skill points can only be gotten thru the competative missions? I suppose that is all well and good, but doesn't strike me as fair to the people that don't like or just plain refuse to do the competative missions. I'll do the missions, but think there should be a way to accomodate both kinds of play styles.
On another side note concerning heroes... I unlocked the Tyrian and Canthan heroes this morning. Rather interesting I must say. The one in KC wasn't too bad, nice little fight with henchies. On the other hand the on in LA is a regular pain in the behind with just henchies. My necro got her butt handed to her because the henchies couldn't stay alive long enough to do much and poor Alesia had no hope of keeping up with the damage that was being dished out.
Had to head off to work before I finished to quest to open up Elona for her there. My mesmer did the one in Cantha and is all set to rock n roll in Elona now. I guess I need to get some darned Asassin skills unlock though dinvr my sin hero is sorely lacking atm.

So far the games great. Only problem I have is grinding for sunspear points for every character. For all we know, later in the game we may need to get 10k points. Other then that, I love it.
Diablo???
lol. The highest rank for Sunspear is indeed 10,000 points.
My impression so far: Most bad ass gw chapter evar!

Lvl 6 Koss with Cleave, and lvl 6 Dunkoro with WoH
I think my Heroes are a bit overpowered for now....

i haven' tplayed much, from what i've seen, looks really pretty and im glad things dont explode when you kill them... felt like factions was designed by a 13 yr old boy or something (no offense to 13 yr old men here lol) but everything had really grose names, exploded, and cantha was like..never ending....pukey.
Though, i'm reading a heck of a lot of negative remarks about nightfall already.. is that normal for a new game release?

Horseman Of War
the only problem I have is that I now have 10 characters... Im starting to think I wouldnt mind maybe 9 months til next chapter... and this is coming from a guy who plays 6 hours a day on average...

And as far as the negative remarks- the happy people are all in-game right now LOVING it- half the complainers probably dont even have the game.

I think they need to slow down the release of new chapters... or i'm gonna have to start getting paid to play this game lol
logik
no lol, no slowing down chapter release... i only played through factions with 2 characters anways and only 3 through prophecies. I am not gonna take all 9 through all cahpters that seems redundant to me. I would much rather get new content sooner

I like the game I like the new skills. The one thing that pissed me off was I watched those of us that actually like to play the ingame trading market take another kick to the nuts. Weapons upgrades were one of those fun little things you could play with and sometimes make a tidy profit on...not anymore. Now with the ability to salvage the upgrade directly, with no chance of failure, you can say so long to those being worth anything. GG Anet. Why not just make it impossible to trade for more than 5K at a time and get your rape of the economy over with while the poor girl still has some tread on the tires? Granted the rare skins market will still boom but not as much now that weapons upgrades can be had so easily. You can literally build a 80K item from a 30K item provided it has good inherents, for little or no cost. This will cause values to plummet. Maybe it's just me but I like finding that super rare loot that will make me a fortune in a single trade. I enjoy that aspect of the game. It's what keeps me playing after I've done the same missions and quests 6 times over. While I can see the coolness inherent in not having to risk whether or not you'll get the mod you need for your customized custom built weapon of choice it still unnerves me. Oh Well, at least I can probably still flip that stupid CE mini pet for like 100K+ecto.
