Gamestop FAILS again!! and again, and again...

This is my third chapter of Guild Wars ALL bought at my local Gamestop.

Now either the guys at THIS particular store are complete idiots, or policies are not being observed as they should be...

Prophecies, had placed pre-order for CE. I get a call day before release, the next day... "OOPS!! Sorry we are all out of Prophecies Collector Editions!"... then WHAT THE HELL was the point of the PREORDER?!? Refunded CE costs...

Factions, placed pre-order for CE. Day of release arrives, game not in store. I call consecutively for a week straight, it doesnt come for a full week, i missed out on the headstart event... crap. They take no measures to remidy the situation or to compensate for the wait.

Nightfall, placed pre-order for CE, AND placed reservation for a presale pack. i get told that day, "Oh, we won't be getting the Presale pack until NF release"... so i say, "Are you SURE?" He says, "Yes, we will call you when NF arrives in our store AND if we get the Pre-sale pack sooner." The day of NF release arrives, i get a call the day before that the NF CE is in store. I go to pick it up, and get told "OOPS! We are sold out of all the Pre-sale packs, and don't expect any more." I never got a call about the Presale pack arriving. So again im SCREWED! Supposed to get Pre-sale FREE with pre-order of the NF CE. What do they do? "Oh, well i had one reserved and gave it to some people because they said that they should be getting one." THAT WAS MINE YOU IDIOT! So he's telling me that simply SAYING they have a pre-order/reservation is the same as ACTUALLY having one? They refund me 5 dollars, when i should have gotten the game for free for getting screwed and COMPLETELY defeated the purpose of my preorders (for NF CE AND the Presale Pack).




I officially hate Gamestop at this point and will no longer ever be getting things from them in store. I can't talk about their online service as i have never used theirs. But i am so sick of Gamestop SCREWING me over that i am completely boycotting Gamestop from this day on. I had looked foward to all the bonus things that come with teh Presale for so long... I am missing out on the in game items, and extra character slot both of which i was most jazzed about.

I scrounged around after that at Best Buy, Fry's, Staples, Walmart, Target and a few other places in HOPES that somehow a Presale pack was left over somewhere. After 3 hours of driving all over, im still up the creek with no Presale Pack. So my only question here is, anyone got ideas about how i can get the Presale Pack?

My only thought was that maybe i can still get a pack from an online store... NOT gamestop.com.

Sorry, i'm just incredibly upset and sick of getting screwed. Finding a reliable software distributor is SURPRISINGLY hard these days... ARGH!!!

I called in everyday for a week when they were SUPPOSE to be released and kept getting the same answer about not being in...
then one day they tell me it wont be on sale till Nightfall comes out...after much debate i finally accept their word...

Meh! Since yesterday, You can purchase the SE and PvP Edition via the In-Game Online Store. Sometime today or soon thereafter the CE will be available via the Online Store.

Today 10/27 they say they are shipping today and blamed Guild Wars.

Yesterday 10/26 they said they were shipping yesterday and blamed Guild Wars.

They advertised on their web site they were shipping the day before 10/25.

One person reported they had the game in some of their stores yesterday.

Never again, never. This is the second time EBGames used to be so dependable until they were brought out by GameStop. I've spent my last penny there.

I hope Guild Wars had nothing to do with this.

I ordered mine from ebgames, USValue shipping (cheapest) and it arrived at 1145 AM Oct 27. Well satisfied here.

I won't preorder from EB again. I preordered the CE quite awhile ago at the local EB. They called me Wed. night and said I could pick up my CE on Thursday(yesterday) afternoon. I go over to the store yesterday and I get 'we won't have it until tomorrow'. So I canceled my CE preorder on the spot. Drove to CompUSA, they checked their back stock, and viola 5 minutes later i'm out the door with Nightfall in hand. The only downside is they didn't have the CE. Ahh well, NCsoft just lost 20 bucks......

I pre-ordered NF, NFCE, and Pre-oder pack from EBGames website. Got email confirming ship date was 10/25. Opted for the 2 day shipping. Package arrived at my house today at 11:30 AM EST. Problem is I am at work and cannot verify if the order is correct. But I feel it will be as they have always been very helpful when I had questions, and to date have yet to mess up any of my orders with them. I also ordered Factions through them when that was being released. Due to the mix up, not thiers, EB decided to throw in a little bonus item for the delay.

Its 1 pm and I'm waiting on mine.....
