How did you guys enjoy your very first Hero Battle?!
Here's how mine went. I rolled a warrior pvp char and set him up as a simple pve sword w/mo. My three hero's were put together pretty quickly as I just wanted to get in and try it out. I had a monk with life sheath, an interupting poison arrow ranger, and koss as a devistating hammer warrior.
Was very quickly put together and I didn't make any special armour or even add a single rune to anything. I just made a weapon for each character and set off to battle!! now that I think of it I don't think I even changed anyones stats to match their build lol..
I was up against an assasin, with similar hero's to mine but much different builds. He had his ranger as a thumper. Good idea!! Anyways it was a fun battle right from the start. I saw a message saying my opponent captured something which worried me as I didn't know what it was or how it would effect the fight!! But I soon found myself in the lead 4-1 then the tables turned 5-4 for him!! I saved my hero's from dying a couple times with healing hands on my warrior lol.. and we battled on to a 20-9 victory for me!! was fun I tells ya!! not sure how effective my monk was but my warrior and ranger definately followed my target's nicely!!
I had a great time but I was expecting to continue on for a win streak. Your sent back to town after the fight. I would like to see some sort of title implemented for hero battles but it is fun to do it just for that.. fun!!
So how did your first Hero Battle go?

I ran a Gale Warrior myself.
Koss took mainly Protector's Strike and Bull's Strike.
The Ranger was a Cripshot.
The Monk was a Blessed running Power Drain.
We got pretty much steam rolled.
At first I had no idea what I was suppose to do, so I ordered everyone to split up and take a shrine each, I myself ran around while getting healed by my Blessed hero, as the monk, ranger and koss took 3 shrines. I got killed, ordered my heros back, eventually I rezed and it was a 4 vs 5 (they had a lvl 24 Necro that I didn't know how the hell they got one). Eventually we kept getting killed because I thought the point was to hold shrines, and lost 8 vs 20.

I won my first hero battle. I used the Hero's that u get automatically cuz im an idiot and didnt stock up on faction.. bu neway i ran an ele/ranger with barrage and mark of rodgorts(HUGE UPDATE). i had the ranger run cripshot/poison. Koss ran bullscharge with a sword and Dunkoro ran blight monk. Never once had to take them undercontrol myself, they did it by themselves.
Also did a few guild scrimmages...owned my friend 3 times in a row without dying once.
They may need a little tweaking(enchants, rezing,) but for now i love em

I ran two d-slash warriors (me and faithful koss) with 2 monks (god knows what they were)... and won!
Would'ya look at the pathetic state of the meta now..
I think you must be the only person impressed at how shadowstepping ruined HB.

Never done HBs, but I did watch one. 8 players, all /A with Return. So much micro management and teleporting around I got dizzy, and was impressed. |

I played during the double HB weeekend. Plenty of noobish players. I knew enough about the concept to understand what to capture/do. Ran my own mesmer build with a monk, warrior, and ele hero. Ended up beating two guys who had level 15 heroes on them (one guy with a level 3 koss). Lost to people running cookie cutter R/P condition builds. Needless to say, my winning record of 4-2 over the course of the weekend wasn't exactly representitve of the HB experience.
I decided never to do it again due to 2 reasons:
1) cookie cutters back the play sytle boring
2) I sometimes slow load. Can't be helped when you play on a laptop. If you load into a HB match 15 seconds into the start of the match, you've automatically lost. The countdown timer on HB matches is not as long as other PvP forms. Frankly, I always thought this was a big flaw in HB design, as it severally penalizies people with any form of lag.

One picture tells more than thousand words. ANET fricking needs to stop releasing these crap PvP modes no one cares about.
