Windows Vista

Ok, so i'm testing Windows Vista..(client RC1 Build 5600), and suddenly GW freezes at the log on screen (still get video, but no sound, and I have to open Task Mngr. to get it to close)...i've tried re-installing the game, checking all the drivers, and to no luck there. My computer that i'm Beta testing on exceeds the minimum req. by a lot, and I have been playing GW on it for about a month with no major issues. I know that NC Soft doesn't offer support to Vista at this time, and won't untill it's officialy released. My question is basically, is anyone else Beta testing Visa and having issues with GW? If there is anyone, have you found any solutions to this?

I am running GW on Vista RC 1 also, and have had no problems with the game.

With almost any OS Beta, there will be problems with drivers. I had to remove my Audigy sound card because Creative Labs has yet to release a good stable driver for Vista. And this may be the problem you are having.

Any time you work with a beta, you have to expect problems like this. Especially with drivers. But Vista itself seems to hande GW beautifully.

Try RC2... wasn't there some driver fixes?

hum...well all of the harware in the compy is compatable with Vista, and all of the drivers for it are up-to-date....i'm thinking this may have something to do with the game update yesterday....cause up untill then I was A-ok.....*sigh*

I'm getting RC2 today or tomorrow...hopefully. maybe that might fix it....

I had the same problem until RC2 came out. I'm running all three chapters both on XP and on Vista RC2 with no problems now. I run a ATI Radeon 9600, Pentium 4 4.0Ghz, 3GB RAM, no sound card oddly enough.

When I upgraded to RC2 it's fine now...odd...but it works so i'm happy!
