Blacktide Den: What Do You Do with a Drunk Shauben?

I don't know if this has been posted before but If anyone has tried this quest at a low level with henchies, you'll know why its frustrating.

I pounded my way through that red blob with 60dp to save the clansmen only to find myself trapped within the npcs.(to finish the quest, you have to lead them back to town) I don't even know how they surrounded me.

I ordered Koss to pull some stuff to kill us so we could respawn at a shrine but there weren't enough Corsairs to kill us. In addition to that, Kihm kept healing us. I tried /stuck several times but that didn't help. I even tried strafing into the gaps between the npcs but to no avail. Unable to move and lead them back to town, I decided to map back to Blacktide

Anyone else have this problem? I know body blocking is part of a gameplay tactic, but do friendly npcs really need this feature?

Same here.
To make things worse, I'm about 2 radarscreens away from Blacktide Denn (I can see Res Shrine....)

/stuck command does not solve this

Anyway, I'll try some more, else I will do the stupid quest again some other time.
At least I have Koss trapped with me, so I have company

Submitted bug report at PlayNC, since I had the same problem with the Ghosts in the Graveyard quest.

Yep, same problem for me. Spent 40 minutes plodding through Corsairs to get stuck in the NPC's.

i had 10000 points to go. and the thing was i had 9000xp in unclaimed quest rewards and this would have made me level 20

i got stuck. got jin to agro some mobs and then all of a sudden massive lag. next thingi know i'm dead.

I found that if you got stuck, if you typed /stuck and moved directly backwords with your back towards you, that you could then strafe left or right and get out of being stuck. That fixed the problem every time for me, not sure if it will do so for you though, just a suggestion to try though.

yep...happend to me i was so pissed...i was about 35 feet away from the blacktide den portal but lag spiked all the way back into the middle of the npc people that i saved...i quit that damned quest

This quest NPC issue happened to me, too, in two different quests - both in the Bog. The Nobles one and that Drunken one. I had to do the Nobles quest 2-3 times before the lardsacks decided to give me a break and let me lead them to where they wanted to be. Did the Drunken quest twice. Both times, I got NPC-screwed. :/

And all of this quest NPC "love" in one day. I'm two hours past my intended sleep time because I was stubborn, hoping to get the Drunken quest done (because it's my last Istani quest), but nope. No can do. ANet farts on me. :/

Needless to say, I despise the bog now.

I may just not do any NPC-escorting quests until ANet cleans up the terrible glitching. My camera keeps spinning opposite of where I'm trying to turn it, too. I try turn my character 90 degrees to the left, s/he ends up looking 90 degrees to the right. Or I stop to cast a spell, and the camera starts spinning like mad all around the character. It's driving me nuts. Wasn't like this before the NF update. ::sigh::

Played this quest this morning and managed to fight my way through the corsairs (60%dp included of course) managed to get myself stuck amongst the shauben, luckily I also managed to get free fought my way back to the portal at Blacktide Den only to find that the quest wouldn't update, it kept telling me to get the shauben back to blacktide even though they were out side the bleedin portal it just wouldn't let me finish the quest.

I tried edging closer and closer to the portal, still no luck. I sent the henchies down the trail just incase they were preventing the shauben from getting close enough to the portal. No luck whatsoever. it finally culminated with me trying to edge to the portal with the henchies down the trail and me taking one step too many and going into Blacktide only to find that the quest had reset to the begining I've got it all to do again.

Has anyone got any thoughts on this if it happens to me again?

Just tried it again but this time having rescued the youths and brought them to where I could see the res shrine outside Blacktide Den
and killed the last group of corsairs, the youths stopped moving and the heros/henchies started moving around them and I got caught up on one of the youths for a second or two but got free then ran to portal only to find that all the others were still in the same place. I could get H/Hs to move around using commands but when I cancelled those commands so that they'd run to me they ran back to where the youths were. I even tried aggroing a mob to see if they'd kill us all but the mob wouldn't aggro even when I tried to attack the mob they ignored me, and to my horror I found that I couldn't attack them I just stood next to them. I ran to the portal to go into town to start again but it wouldn't activate. I used /stuck and low and behold I appeared in the middle of the youths and H/Hs. I can only assume that the game decided I was stuck at that point, but I could still move around but couldn't interact with the environment in any way at all. I've contacted tech support but as of yet recieved no reply other than acknowledgement of reciept of my problem report.

Lucky I didn't get stuck - apparently. But my henchies did. And whenever I was half a screen away from them I just teleported back to them (like lag rubberbanding).

Same happened to me 3 times in the bog. I've given up for now. I've been stuck in several places already, and the /stuck fix has not done a damned thing.

Yup, same thing happened here, Annoying to know you labor through that mess getting about 1 kill per life, and once you finally think you have won, you get stuck =C
