How Do I get Rid of Hero Pets?

I'm out of ideas as to how to get rid of these things. Normally I'd jsut go to the tamer and presto no more pet. Unfortunately, this doesn't work for heroes. Is there something I'm missing or am I stuck leveling up a dumb Moa bird? I'd be ok with this if it weren't for the fact I wanted a small army of reef lurkers as hero pets.

How do u decide on what pets your hero's have?

@GODh: Yes, your heroes can keep pets. Re-read what you quoted and you'll know that too.
@SPIRIT OF THE SEA: You charm the animal just like anything else.

So back on topic please, I know how to get the pet. What I want to know is how to get rid of the little SOB so I can move on to crocs or crabs.

Have you tried just going to a tamer with your hero who has the pet in party?

He just said it doesn't work with heros.

Since this is the only way to get rid of pets...maybe A-net never thought the whole thing through, and we might need Gaile or Alex to clear this up for us.

I forsee a patch in the coming weeks
