Why does it take so long to get to sunspear general?

Why does it take so long? Isn't it the most boringist part of Nightfall?

Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot that everyone in the world needs instant gratification and that being forced to earn or wait for something harms your delicate psyche.

Lyssa forfend that something on this game forces you to participate for longer than 3 days before it's all complete.

There are things in this world that used to be referred to as "Long range goals". this happens to reflect that.

it doesnt really take that long.....if you are on the mainland every kill is worth 4 points....i personally used it as a time to get all of the avatar elites for my dervish

It seems to vary in difficulty between people. Some say a couple hours, along with quests. Me, it took about 20 hours with the quests. A definite help is getting blessings from Sunspear Scouts, and, later, Wandering Priests, so you get points for killing creatures along the way.

Also, do a lot of side quests. I did these mostly before going in to the primaries and I was always (except with the first couple ranks) there or ahead of where I needed to be.

All in all, it took me about two days to get to general so I can't complain it's too hard as there are only a few more ranks left. Even in leisure playing I could have them inside a couple months.

just a tip, east from yohlon haven(sp?) you cna just go out, take the bug thing, kil all the bugs very fast, is like 80 points, go bakc in, and repeat, took me like 20 minutes to get general.

yeah I did the same DvM did, took me 1.5 hours (had 150 points when I got the general quest). Most boring part of my gw experience t.t. shame, because the rest of the game is awesome.

What build are you using? Im trying to do it and the insect queen just heals them. I try to aggro and not get the queen but she always keeps strolling back.

I put my Ele into the boat, advanced to the sanctum. there I went hunting the critters and did the quests surrounding the sanctum and earned the general title in roughly 3h.

4pts. per critter killed accelerated things

uhm, using a pargon build with Go for the eyes and Watch yourself, 1 derbish here, 2 monk heros, and like illusion, monk, ele and dervish henchies, just focus fire the monks, they drop pretty fast.

And I only kill the 2 groups in the North, and the big bunch to the south, then warp back in and repeat.

Bounties...stack on as many as you can. If you get enough you're gaining a promotion point or everything you kill more or less. Takes no time at all even with casual play.

Sorry, but the sunspear title is the easiest title to get in the game, and you are complaining about how hard it is. PFFTTT

just do quests and kill stuff along the ay just as you would be doin without the title...

does it look hard just because there is a progress bar?...

LOL - There is always something to complain about! Cracks me about the trivial things people can find to moan about in a fantastic game! Getting any title is part of the game - enjoy it, play it, game with it - just please quit the complaining!

took me precisly 2 hours to get to general using Scrolls and Priests in Kourna... All heroes were at lev 20 by the time I reached Vabbi. SO quite frankly I have not clue why its taking you so long unless you are not using the priests... And if not well.. then you didnt read the text inthe game very well then did you?

My quesiton is a bit off topic, but i don't want to open another thread about sunspear title. I reached sunspear castellan(7500 pts) and now none of the priests want to give me those hunt "blessings"(unfortunately i can't get even the lightbringer one also). Do i have to make some progress in the story? From which area will this "hunt" available again?

I got all the hunts in marga coast and cleared the area. Didn't take too long.

Sunspear General is quite easy to get. It really doesn't take too long, if you are playing the game through normally you should be fairly well on the way to reaching before you actually need it for the primary quest.
