It's not about the benefits. PVP Rank doesn't prove anything at all, yet it is a requirement in HA. It's just a way to keep new players out. Players are like that, they want their own elite community where they are the king of them all and every kind of title, emote or whatever allows them to do just that.
Besides though. Rank4 is not exactly hard to get. Get a friend along and setup your heroes to include 2+1 Searing Flames Spammer, 1 Water Ele and have your friend as well as you carry your Lightbringers Gaze (echo it, if you must. I did it without Echo). Have a BIP/BR Necro and pack the rest full on monks (2 heal, 1 prot). You kill so fast it's just not funny anymore. Wiping an entire area takes around 30 minutes and nets you around 700 LB Points.

I think that these sad individuals who now have introduced a 'requirement' of having a certain rank in this category of 'Lightbringer' are probably either stuck up high pvp ranked players or simply wannabes who now want to do onto others what was perhaps done to them in HA.
Whichever the reason that these people have introduced this lousy precedent into PvE there will always be people arround who will not bow down and stoop to their level, I for one will certainly not.
If I have to rely on these people to enter this area which has been mentioned, (I still have not reached it and in no hurry either) think twice people whoever you are.

so what if you have a maxed out LB rank? i mean you're not getting anymore skills after R3 and that damage reduction is usefull yeah BUT what the hell are you gonna use it for? solo farm? doubt it, otherwise you have monks on the team who act just aswell as that damage reduction

I ran into that possibility as well. I noticed a certain monster spontaneouosly respawning out of its own corpse, and I had it worked out in all of 3 seconds. I've yet to try it though.

I don't think Derto has been outside in a while. Or has a faster method than I do, either one. Cause 10k points would take about 2-3 days of constant playing. Then again I can't really just do that all day in the game so yeah. Okay so I did the math and it's about a day and a half so I guess it's possible enough if he's not doing anything else. Then again you have the chance that he is using a group and doing it in about 1-2 hours.

well if he had 15k on the 3rd and today on the 5th he has 25k he might just be "farming" like I am.. >> ~8 enemies dying every 90 seconds or so.. so 200 points an hour.. would take roughly 10 days nonstop leaving my computer on / gw up to hit 50k.. but it's being nerfed sometime soon, so, oh well.
@200/hour that's ~4800 every 24 hours.. so 2 days... about the 10k needed to go from r6 to r7

i know one spot but its much slower than 200 per hour ( i got ~200 in 4 hours heh ) but really it's useless unless your leaving for a week heh... plus ANet has banned people before for exploiting things like this

since they are going to nerf it anyway (wonder how) here it is what u do.
u go to the gate of the nightfallen lands. grab 2 healer heroes, 2 hench heroes, a warrior hero and a paragon (or something that wont do an overwhelming amout of dmg at one time) then head out the portal. get the monster hunt from the forgotten warden and pull the torment to the res shrine. flag the heroes there and there u have it. the torment should duplicate themselves and u should have enough healing to keep ur party alive while u go do something else.
sort of a cheap way to get ur rank up, so if u dont want the satisfaction of earning the rank do this, otherwise do the quests like your suppose to.

It's an exploit. It's not a trick, it's not clever. Being in a position to just be able to go afk and rack up the points while doing nothing is exploiting (lucky/unlucky title notwithstanding as that has no effect ingame whatsoever)

Well if their playing together its much faster. None of my guildies seem into which blows so i get stuck soloing though I must say use both echos and run this LB gaze-->LB Gaze-->LB Gaze-->Spirtual Pain and 2 searing flame heros clears things quite fast.

You could never get it that fast by "cheating" which apparently gets only about 200 points per hour. Doing it the real way gets closer to 1000 points per hour, especially if you have a team full of people.

I just picked up after a few days of slack but farming is pretty fast if you do it outside gate of shadows... did 7.5k-12.3k in about 3 hours.

in turais procession you can agro about 3 of these creatures called tormented land and kill them. they respawn after a period of time. just get you thing from whispers dude and afk=easy title while your at school,work,whatever. when i just had 1 i was getting about 100 every 3 hours so with 3 thats 100 every hour not bad for being afk. earning points as i am at school typing. when i get home i give my henchies a bonus i take them questing

if you know how to use flags well you can maintain 2 groups 4 at once and pull in 200 an hour.

yea i recently figured this out lol i have it setup with koss with sword and riposites and one monk he fights one and the others kill the other three works really well although im getting anoyed at how anet keeps kicking me off.

200 points an hour is a lot slower than actual active farming. Then again, if you're getting points while you're asleep that work too I guess.... for a good 8 hours of sleep you get 1.6k LB points. :O
