Event needs to be longer.
Thorn needs to show up more then once every 3 hours.
Or a novel idea would have been that if you have Prophecies and Nightfall on the same account when you visit Thorn he gives you each hat for that character.

Clicking on him won't delay the event. They fixed that after the day of the tengu, but for some reason it still annoys people. If you look at your clock you'll see that the game lasts 30 minutes, that's the way it's designed. It just seems long, but the clicking has nothing to do with it.

So if you want hats for more than one character, whats the best way to server hop? Log back in and then jump to the highest number server?

.. after the event finished in Kamadan, I hopped over to LA in hopes of snatching a pumpkin before the king was supposed to have vanished.
Well, when I arrived in District 95 (versus, say, 25 in Kamadan), there was no king. I figured I had missed him. However, after a few minutes of idling in Lion's Arch, my girlfriend (who was with me) pointed out that, HEY, THERE HE IS.
He hadn't finished. He was just arriving.

I must have farmed and merched thousands of orr emblems. For those that know the spot at Gates of Kryta and how to farm it with their monk... ~22 orr emblems in 15 minutes is not bad at all!

The district hopping technique works very well.
Have guildies spread out across multiple districts and you can jump from LA to Kamadan or vice versa and see him twice for that same visit.
Remember.
The districts are NOT synchronized

If you're in Kamadan district 30+. You can switch to Lion's Arch district 25- for a chance to score both the holliday hats.

I have the witches hat. Will I get the pumpkin hat if I stay for the king again in the same district or will I get a second hat or nothing?
Not a problem if I don't since I got the pumpkin hat on my other char....

I've been able to average about 4 hats per round using the district hopping method. I usually start in Kamadan district 1 or 2 and switch to the mid LA districts once the king has given the hat. After LA I switch chars and go back to Kamadan, then if I'm lucky there will still be some LA districts that still have the king. So far I've gotten 20 hats with this method.

Yeah, I was in the event that happened 3 hours 45 minutes ago, played for 2 hours after that and typed /afk and went for a nap. Came back 6 minutes after 6 (eastern time) and was booted with a 045 code. Gay!!
Edit: Ok, just went back and read it... it says "for inappropreate language" LMAO!! That's well deserved. Do you have to be turned in for that? Or do they have a filter or something?

Igneous, check to see if any of your Halloween item counts increased.
I'm not faring as well this year...everyone knows about the map trick. So far I've only been able to get 1 hat per visit, so my main char has both hats...tried logging in with other chars, but the only districts I could get in were the ones he had already left. Oh, well. I can get 2 more hats tonight, what with 2 more visits. Guess that's enough. So long as my oldest char has one of everything ever given. Except the warlock hat, because she is a, uh, she.

i tried - its weird how we can log on using 1 inexperienced character and go right to ascalon city but not use any other chars who are more experienced on the same account - in other words neither of us can get to lion's arch
