I reached r8 in the sunspear promotion path on my tyrian born character. The npc's will no longer give me any blessings to get to r9.
Anyone else have this problem or know what's going on?

Seems to be a common problem.
I'm suffering from it as well, no more blessings after i hit Rank 8 (but there is a whole bar towards Spearmarshal at 15.000). Dunno, bug, intention. Who knows.

I found that depending on your current level and the area you are in, you might or might not get the blessings.

Rank 8 is the cap for blessing (in the entire game) it seems. The only way I can think to get more would be a repeatable quest for 100 points. I'm not sure if one exists, however, and if it did...who would want to do it 75 times?

Doubt it. It's probably a bug, because I heard somewhere that you can't get blessings for lightbringer points either if your r8 sunspear.

That's not necessarily true. I have r8 in the sunspear and have been getting blessings for the lightbringer. However, at the moment I can't get blessings for anything else.

im able to get blessings for lightbringer although im sunspear R8, but as the others, i cannot receive any blessings for the sunspear. i hope this will change once i reach the vabbi area

It is most definitely not a bug. The responses from the guys at the shrine easily show that (things like, you've got bigger and better things to do). It would lead one to believe there is going to be another release of content (much like Sorrow's Furnace), but even if that's the case, I don't see why they would need to restrict people from going further, there just wouldn't be an advantage to it.

Yep, can't get any more now, milked it and all the quests to 8k sunspear. Im really hoping that I can get more / max the title in the elite mission maybe?

I too have reached the rank 8 Castellan wall. I currently have just over 8000 points, and may be able to find a few more quests I haven't done, but there is no way I am going to get 15,000.
I feel this has to be a bug, or that there is something in the game we haven't found yet.

"We would never put a title into the game that it is not possible to max".. (not an exact quote, but something similar)
The exception to this is the Lucky/Unlucky series which I think we all know we can only complete during special event.
But anyway, my point is that every other title is achievable, albeit some of them cost crazy amounts of money or take crazy amounts of time, but they are all possible, so there should be some way that this one can be maxed as well.

It might just be like the Skill Hunter and Lucky/Unlucky title tracks, which previously could not be maxxed? Can't be maxxed out in Nightfall, possibly be built upon in future?
It could also be the case that there can only be one Spearmarshall (or Warmarshall). An earth analogy would be there is only one Supreme Commander/Commander-In-Chief/President/Prime Minister etc. That could be another reason why you can't progress (at the moment at least)

Now, I don't know how anyone else will feel about this if it's true, but I can say for me this made me very angry. Why would they do that? That's gotta be the most moronic thing I've ever seen. Give us a title track then stop us from getting it? WTF?

Hmmm.... the r9 workaround seems like a solution that was overlooked by ANet, not thier intention. I still think it's a bit early to come to a conclusion on this one. Maybe if you hold Gwen's Broken Flute when talking to the Sunspear.....

ok lenny. since you seem to want to be helpful, here's a tip. help. it's not going to spoil it for me. I have r6, both protector titles, both mapping titles; have almost 70% of Elona explored already and am 8/20 toward the protector with none of the island missions done. I'm coming up on the torment area now and will probably be done with the game including protector and mapping titles by tomorrow night.

Try going out with a lower ranked guildie. It's rumored thier blessing effects you. Although, there was a huge update last night, so I have not tested nor can I confirm it other than rumor.

I think max sunspear was put there intentionally. From the get go when people were talking about how you couldn't get above a certain rank (r6 i believe), they sooner or later found out you could in fact recieve blessings in higher level areas. Now the only conclusion i have before people get to crazy over this is, either the elite area or some other area that everyone seems to be missing does contain a way to max out this title. I HIGHLY doubt that anet screwed this up by not thinking it through.

The only evidence I have is that in another thread there is a screenshot of maxed level (and then some). I'm hoping they didn't use the 'let the baddies rez themselves' solution.

There is a Challenge Mission/Arena thing where they have records keeper that gives points after r8. I hit 7500 before I got there and now I have around 7,600.

Hmm....the screenshot I saw was like 16k thats 250 kills above what's needed. Why would you waste your time with that? Just get a few points over for proof of concept. Anyway...I'm going to try to find a Spearmarshall tonight and test my leeching theory.

If they went out in a guild group of 4 people, it means they were all most likely at different levels of sunspear. If you suddenly got the title, you wouldnt want to quit, would you?
So basically, the reason i see them getting over the max amount of points is to help their friends getting the title as well. If you were to get all four people together, you would find that the points probably scale progressively.

Any ideas?? Talk to whisper's acolyte or something like that in the Chantry of Secrets, he'll give you some info and exp and maybe lightbringer's gaze, not sure. After that, the whisper informants will resume giving you bounties.

Some people have it maxxed (15000) or w/e max sunspear pnts are), what you do is go to an area when you have about 7495 sunspear pnts, then kill everyone on the map except priests, then come back to where u have already been, kill the group resed by the priest, and repeat.
(no idea how long it would take, id imagine at least 10 hours)
