Hero Rangers
ShaneOfMach
Well, after getting my beloved hero ranger, I deceded to make it an interrupter.
With Punishing Shot, Savage Shot, and Distracting Shot, enemy casters couldn't even cast one spell!
When it comes to interruption, AI speed greatly surpasses human speed.
What are your thoughts about this?

Ranger doesn't know how to get line of sight...
She also doesn't know how to prioritize his interrupts.
found it better to just stick BHA on her like daemon

I think that if u click the lock on target button in the hero window then the AI will surpass human speed with interupting. That way u don't have to worry about the caster and also they can't help.
Personally I use the ranger/assassin build for my hero. It works like a charm against hero monks as most ppl set them to avoid combat they always run as soon as u start the atk on them. I have my ranger use leaping mantis sting to cripple the monk and poison them ( apply poison skill pwns ) then fall into the combo. Then defencive skills and healing. The sin combo only takes 8 second recharge and u can spam repeating strike with it. A monk will die quickly against this combo ( specially hero monks ). U can have an interrupt ranger/ sin to. Have the ranger bring apply poison and leaping mantis sting ( so u can catch them ) then entangling asp ( knockdown skill ) then u can use falling spider ( I prefer fox fangs as it can't be blocked or evaded ) then horns of the ox ( another knockdown skill ) that line up takes 20 energy at the most and u will have ur energy regen so u should be good on energy to unleash it again. This way u get mass dmg on monk and the monk can never get away because of constant knockdown. I bring whirling defence and lightning reflexes also as defencive and atk speed boosts. Then troll ungruent or res sig whichever u think u will need more. Either way this build would work well for a hero. Btw that's a slight remix of the build I use but nearly the same affect just more knockdown with the build I just posted.

Btw forgot to say that entangling asp takes 30 second recharge so u should bring fox fangs instead of falling spider as u can use the combo more since fox fangs is 8 second recharge and falling spider must strike a kd foe. So fox fangs is the better choice.
Maria The Princess
i made her poison arrow+kindle arrows. most of the mob was poisoned

I hope you're kidding, that's impossible.
You can only interrupt 1/4 casts such as RoF as a ranger with pure luck, it can be done - but not by reflex.
On topic, I prefer having one of my casters just go /Me for interrupts - or just have them bring PD and PD all day. :3

If you know what your doing you can easily have a 50% success rate interupting RoF, WHEN YOU INTEND TO. not by pure luck.

You can study a monks patterns, especially when under high pressure: if there isnt anything better to interupt, fire a distract shot 1.75 seconds after he used RoF, by anychance, you will normally get it.
Thanks,

I too made an interupter out of her. But I don't think she did as well as I do as a Pure INT.
And yes her "line of sight" is lacking. Stopping my attacks to move her around a boulder every other fight was getting tiresome.
I also ran her in a Barbed Arrows + Poision Arrow build but did not feel she spread things around enough.
I just keep her locked on whatever target I have and they go down fast enough with me on DMG and her on INT, but I have Punishing shot aswell and use it more than I should with her having 3 INTS.
I did, however, get a green bow drop and gave that to her. 15^50, 20/20, Marks +1 20% chance Hornbow. It looks kinda cool.

AI physical interrupters are quick... and they can nail at least 3/4 second casts with regularity, but they are not to bright about shooting into walls and around corners. Truth be told, I'd rather have a mezie hero as an interrupterbot.
Anyone tried a Trapper Hero?

I thought of the trapper and decided it may take some hand holding of the Hero.
Like flag placement and activating skills for them. I'm not sure if the Hero will "trap, trap, trap, trap" or if it would still bow attack too much and then set traps when ever it felt like it. Would be tough in battle, but would work for pulling enemys into the traps maybe.
ya, I forsee alot of work involved.

Easy solution to trapping.
equip a +5 energy sword and a shield/offhand on your hero ranger, set its mode to attack, and viola. It will run up to the AI, and either you can manually set the traps or just let the AI do his work.
If he sets traps before hand, disable them, and re-enable them when he gets close to enemies.

My hero ranger is b/p, with same build as me (including distracting shot) and she does a very good job
