Sorrow's Furnace and Eles

Now, this has really started to annoy me the past few days. Not being able to find a group due to the new nerf and the bias views of most people who think that just because 1 ele sucks, every ele sucks!

Well let me say that Eles are not bad at all. You may be saying "it takes too long", "eles suck ass", "they all run from eles"
All wrong IMO:

1) They are not slow, from my experience as an ele farmer i have done just fine and it hasn't taken too long
2) They dont suck ass, having the ability to do high powered spells 3 times in a row (over 120 damage) does not suck.
3) 3 meteor showers in a row will maybe make then run but the knockdown effect of 3 showers is gunna do alot. They are gunna find it hard to move.

I am a Renewal Echo Nuker with these spells:

Rodgorts Invocation (Doesn't make them run, still does as much damage as meteor shower)
Fireball
Meteor
Meteor Shower (They wont be able to get up on most cases if there are 3 barrages in a row)
Glyph of Renewal
Fire Attune
Arcane Echo
Power Drain

It just sucks ass that eles are singled out as being sucky builds since the new nerf. All i'm saying is that from my own personal experience and farming well we do not suck.

People realized that an SS necro is even more effective than a nuker (in SF).

But you have a decent skill setup, you shouldn't have too much trouble getting a group.

Thats the problem, more and more people are looking for a MM and a SS to finish off a group. There was a big discussion going on in game chat (i say discussion, more of an argument) between a load of guys who think eles suck completely and 1 or 2 eles trying to argue why we are not so bad.

Most groups are willing to wait for an SS to turn up rather than get an ele. It just sucks. I was doing farming all the time before the latest fix but now no one wants an ele.

Good! It's funny to see the necro slowing edging into the Holy Trinity.

Most people don't like the shoe being on the other foot.

I agree i used my ele alot in SF and now no one wants them. I guess thats why i made a N/Me.=)

Anyway, if you nuke, I think it is time to try something new. I mean nuking is all fine in dandy in the first couple of missions in the northern shiverpeaks...but after that it is pretty ineffective due to recharge, exhaustion, etc.

If there is fire, water, air, earth... then why only use fire. Have an open mind.

Just isnt worth the hassle most of the time getting an ele - from my personal experience being a prot bonder in numerous sf runs , I find that using a ss necro is more effective and quicker in most cases. Alot of ele's dont understand the aoe nerf and can't effectivly take down mobs , i've even had a few ele's bring firestorm with them ....

lmao, firestorm...jesus christ. Well they are just morons. There are some eles (like me - dont want to me arrogant though) that know how to farm even with this aoe nurf. Thats why i only use meteor shower when the enemy is boxed in, the spells that i use reguraly are Rodgorts invocation 3 X using echo and renewal and then fireball and meteor and then meteor shower (maybe) to finish them off.

if you were forming a 4-5 man sf farm group before the "aoe nerf", would you have accepted a necro, ranger, or mesmer? if no, why not?

you don't have to answer this publicly, but answer to yourself honestly.

A necro, yes. Plus, i hardly ever see mesmers and rangers in new groups. Only necros.

I am sorry, but having being booted out of groups by Eles for an extra Ele on numerous occasions, before the AI update, I have very little sympathy for you or any other bleating Ele.

If all you wnat to do is farm, use a Tank, Necro or Monk; better still, form a group of your own and invite Rangers and Mesmers, who have always had trouble getting groups.

That is everything i wanted to say. Eles took place for rangers and mesmers and nekros since beginning. And now the time is over. My Nec is back
And also my ranger-trapper can get to work now.

That is one thing I love to do. Is to go to fort ranik or northern wall and help new rangers and mesmers get levels and complete the missions.

just me but Ive always prefered a barrage using ranger with fav winds over a nuker.

a barrager can spam barrage, toss down a couple traps, savage shot a few casters and basically do more damage over time to a larger mass than a nuker can. AND AOE doesnt effect barrage... aka no mobs running and screaming into your monk..


rangers dont need to wait for ene recharge, they dont get exaustion, they actually have dodging skills and can stand for 10 seconds in a mob and not totally use up a monks ene..

so pack your triple echo meteor guy, salvage those armors, and make a charicter that can do more than one thing and do your job better than you do.

This isn't just you. I know many Barrage Rangers, (myself included), with the same view. I always thought Barrage Ranger > Triple Nuker before the AI Update, and definitely since.

It is just a shame many non-ranger players don't see it.
