Won't mean much to most, but I just finished Prophecies

And I've been playing the game on and off since beta...

Pretty sad eh?

I never could get my friends interested in the game, and I had one horrible pug experience after another, so I finally threw up my hands in frustration at Thunderhead Keep (I did the Ascension missions with either one or two other people, giving orders the whole way - this was just after release). But Thunderhead just kept wiping the groups I went in with, always right at the end, and after my frustration level with the Ascension process (again, remember, this was not long after release, and not in a skilled guild), I gave up on it.

I came back some time later with my one remaining friend who was playing GW, and we tackled it again - and failed. Bizarrely, a few days after that, I logged on, joined a random pug, and we cleared it. Then I took another break :P

But yeah, with Nightfall out, I hopped on for the first time in awhile, saw they'd added henchmen control (sweet!) and easily cleared the last missions around the Ring of Fire. Cool area, glad to finally finish the game.

Now I suppose I should move on to Cantha I suppose I'll start a new character, leaving my Elementalist to rest.

It's a bummer I'll never be able to see the Underworld/Sorrow's Forge/etc, without a solid guild, I can't imagine the annoyance of doing those with pugs. I play to enjoy the experience and explore, and most pugs are either horrible, or solely focused on clearing the area as fast as possible - neither of which appeals to me.

I have a love/hate relationship with this game. I love the _concept_ of the combat engine... but only in pvp, and I don't play pvp due to my friends playing other mmos. I love the art, like the music, and enjoy the story - but don't really like the pve much.

Guess I'll see how/if Factions improved on it. I'll spend a few weeks on it, with the new henchmen controls, unless there are really annoying missions, I should be able to beat it, then head on to Nightfall

Congrats on finally beating Prophecies.

Sorry to hear about your poor experiences with PUGs. I haven't had many bad experiences with PUGs, so I haven't been detered from playing GW.

Lots of repetition in Factions, I haven't ventured into NF yet, but hopefully its better than Factions.

Good luck.

I mean, FoW, TotPK, UW, SF, Titan Source, get a hero, etc. are extras.

Otherwise, every update/patch/new campaign, you may endup having to go back to Tyria and complete more quests.

That's awesome!
Yeah, I've been playing since last Halloween and I haven't even beat the first one yet. Kept changing characters, played WoW for a bit, went through most of Cantha, worked on titles, and am now going through Nightfall.... hmm.. A.D.D. can be bad for this game...

Theres alot of people that dont focus on the storyline, so haven;t techincally finished yet.

Myself, I try to get one character through the story, then just mess around with quests and titles on most others.

Hmm, can Heroes be brought over to the other campaigns? That would be kind of cool

You dont expect to join a guild and 5 minuts later everyone stops for you and goes and does all the missions in game and elite skill capping with you...

If you need someone to help you with Hells Precipice, pm me (add me to friends list as Dargoth Alfazul). I am currently using my Mesmer in Pre-Seering - playing only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

I have completed Prophecies with my W/R, Mo/E, N/Me, Rit/N, R/Mo and A/W. I have completed Factions with my W/R, Mo/E, N/Me, Rit/N and R/Mo (hard to find a group for Raisu Palace with my A/W).

I haven't tried Night Fall yet.

I've completed Hell's Precipice many times (usually beat mission, go again to get bonus - and help beat misison, then to cap and help get bonus and beat mission). You'd think I'd do it just once with each character, but nope, I ended up doing it like 2 or 3 times with most of them. Then I'd help others just for the fun of it.

Good luck!

Seven tyrian protector titles and zero Canthan titles, maybe the heroes will help change that. I too hate pugs, so it's kinda nice to have Koss, Olias, and Tahlkora guarding one gate in Eternal Grove, while a few henchies and myself guard the other.

The only thing in Prophecies I never finished was the final "Titan's Source" quest out in the Dragons Gullet. I tried many times with PuG's and each time someone left before we even got to the Titans. Hopefully with the new Heroes I will be able to level them up, bring 'em to Tyria, and beat those blasted Titans once an for all!!

I did complete Factions with my ele once but that the only character I did it with. Factions is just to frustrating for me to bring every character I have through it, especially the whole huge city area. Ugh.

I just got Nightfall last night throught the online store at the login screen so my ele has some new areas to explore.

I finished The Titan Source. Think I might be the only one in Guild Wars who did all the titan quests with PUG's lol. Actually TTS is rather easy compared to the other quests. The only thing that kills you is the mad E-denial at the end.

In fact, I'm willing to bet many have, after all everyone in a PUG can lay claim to that.

Out of all of the Titan quests, LDD I found was the toughest. DD was the easiest, DDF was 2nd easiest, TS was 3rd and DNKP was the 2nd hardest.

I did the whole thing with a pure PUG. I did all the titan quests (the ones I've done anyway) with nothing but PUGs. I almost never party with my guild, unless its to help them out with something.

ya that E denial was brutal. I tried TTS with the four man group a few times and we got close but just couldn't pull the bosses away from each other. I even tried the 6 man group from Yak's, running back to the quest, but that was a total failure as 3 people quit before we even got to the bosses

Add me to your friends list as Dargoth Alfazul (I may be playing a different character that's why). Anyway, I have a Monk that still has to do it, so if you can wait until Friday Night or Saturday/Sunday Night, let me know.

My N/Me still needs LDD, my W/R needs LDD and DNKP. Lol, my Assassin and Ritualists still need to get to Granite Citidel inorder to complete DDF.

Only my R/Mo has completed TS.

So you can I was polishing off the last few quests in my log, and then opening up Cantha and Elona for this character, when I hit on the Olias quest in Lion's Gate. A few minutes later, I'm wandering around with my brand new level 15 Necro. He's now a level 19 N/Mo, and I can't tell you how awesome it is to be able to set his skills, stats, equipment, and control him individually.

I set him up with a host of Death Magic, as my El/N is Fire/Blood, and now I have pet buddies and poison and disease added to my massive aoe damage - it really increased my kill rate, and I can still get two more I'm thinking I'll get at least one Warrior or Dervish, and then something else to fill the third slot.

One question - I noticed he has access to all subjobs, because they are unlocked for my character, but does he automatically get the skill point bonuses from the extra quests in the Crystal Desert, or is he permanently limited to a lower number?

I'm off to capture the last Elite Fire skill in the Ring of Fire, then probably go finish the Cantha intro quest. I didn't know that Sorrow's Furnace could be done with Henchmen, nor did I know that the corrupted Tombs existed, so both of those are on my list. In Tyria at least, it sounds like the only areas I'll have a hard/impossible time getting into are the Underworld and the Fissue of Woe. I'll worry about those after I do some more skill finishing and work on my gear, which is really rather bad.

Ouch. I finished THK in one go with a PUG....and I was the only monk

Despite the hype, it wasn't all that hard and we got the bonus as well.
