So the Inscriptions didn't work out as...

To the OP...you took a gamble and lost, grab a hankie, wipe away the tears and stop whining.

The problem is not with inscriptions/insignias being NF only but as the way they were made. Tyria and Canthan weapons were not designed for the inscription/insignia system. Thus they would have to redesign each weapon produced. For Nightfall the system did the work while processing the weapon so it worked. Its not as much as they didnt do it as they couldnt

To all and everyone who would go on to say things like:
SEE WE TOLD YOU ANET WASNT GONNA SCREW US OVER U WHINING BITCHES LAWL. <3 ANET.
Remember, disscussions bring about changes and for this moment in time inscriptions only affecting weapons found in Nightfall, most players old and new seems ok with it, but it cannot be confirmed for sure that the application of inscriptions to all weapons wont not have been the case if the masses in the forums have voiced against it in these and similar forums/fansites. So remember that changes for the better arent always due to the zealous faith in Anet but good reasonable/constructive suggestions/critisim from discussions....when we are not busy flaming/PvPing each other over in these forums.

The attacks on me for the things I have said simply prove that the truth hurts, and people will do or say anything to justify and rationalize what they are doing. They can't ever belive they are wrong. No, of course not, it's the person making judgment. Ya, that's the ticket.
I didn't loose money, I just kept weapons I found that I wanted to mod or get mods from. They just went to the trader. If you try and play the market sometimes you win, sometimes you loose. It may even occur that eventually both side loose (after you get rid of you stuff Anet adds inscriptions into Tyrian and Canthan items). That's speculation/gambling and I can not feel sorry for anyone. Your gonna loose sometimes.
However, I agree that I want them to work on older chapter's stuff. I really like my ele's armor but would rather have different stats. Since the skin isn't available in Nightfall, oh well. Same thing with some weapon skins.
Not a big deal. You could still have them found only in Elona, but I would like to apply them to older characters.

Minion Master One is a Tyrian. He's wearing a SupVigor and SupDeath runes on his AL60 armor.
Minion Master Two is an Elonian. He is also wearing SupVigor and SupDeath runes on his AL 60 armor. Furthermore, he has the inscription that gives +15 armor while controling 5 or more minions.
Both of them have 10 minions, the melee noob ones. What do you think which one has the advantage?
As for weapon inscriptions, those a nice but can be un-balancing too, but not drastically as a +X armor armor inscriptions.
On the topic of losing money - I took a gamble and bought a 20<50 sephis axe from a friend for 10k in hopes of making it 15>50 for my tyrian warrior. I was disappointed but my world didn't crumble because I don't have a 15>50 sephis.

All the inscriptions do is decouple those mods from the skin - which is a good thing. Factions saw a start to this, Nightfall took it a step further. The only "unbalanced" part may be at what prices each mod stabilises at. If the good mods suddenly become 30+k per armor piece then you can blame that on inscriptions. Even with the new stats they would have just done the Canthan way and had it as an armor set.
It's more an issue of new armors being available in later chapters and new content not being backwards compatible. You can complain about that if you want, but I suspect it will fall on mostly deaf ears. Most of us like new content in new games and Anet wants to sell games - go figure.

| ANet wants to sell their new chapters. They need a selling point, and something special. You want them to take it away and give it to everybody. To people who , some garunteed, others not decided, will not be buying Nightfall. GG to your idea. |
