Anet, allow us to customise certain preorder items please ;_;

When I got Zenmai, I spawned some preorder daggers for her to use, fair enough, she can use them, but now I wanted her to go A/E for the conjure spells, what happens? Can't mod her daggers.

Come on Anet, I want to kit my heroes out with those lovelies =(

Funnily enough, when I did the same on my sin (whos daggers were spawned from times ago), it worked >_>

Really annoying when you want her to get GOOD daggers on all 8 of your chars >_<

Were the daggers equipped when you tried to mod them?

Because I noticed that you can't seem to dye a heroes' weapon (a shield, in my case) when they're still equipped with it, and this might be the same deal...

even unequipped they aren't moddable.

If you're trying to mod the weapons with mods from Nightfall, I believe you can't do it.
As in, inscriptions etc.
I tried modding a Runic Axe that my Factions warrior used, and it wouldn't work in Nightfall, but as soon as I try to mod it in Cantha it works.
I dunno.
I have been able to re-mod all my CE weapons, but I haven't tried re-modding any of the old ones in NF.
That's my guess though.

The mods I had were all canthan, but I spawned the daggers in elona....


I'll experiment tho.

UPDATE: The daggers are not moddable regardless of where spawned.

Daggers spawned a while ago ARE moddable.

Isnt the point of pre-order bonus items to give you a unique max-dmg item from the word go.

So why should you able to mod them?

Your being blessed as it is, having a max-weapon from the start of creating a new character, but thats not good enough for you.

Just get another weapon and mod it.

The point is he can mod the old bonus items and can no longer mod them. Yet other people are having no trouble doing so, such as myself.
The only problem I have, is modding Canthan or Tyrian weapons in Elona.
I have always been able to re-mod my collector's bonus items, including the new ones from Nightfall, so I dunno?

yea all previous renditions of Preorder items were always able to added too, you just could not salvage from them... Now it makes since you can not add inscriptions and such... but the normal prefix sufix mods shuold work...

Maybe thats the problem... Have you tried adding mods from Factions drops?? Maybe the old style salvaged mods have a different type of flag then Mods from Nightfall.

Nope... I just verified that with a bow that dropped from factions... If I try to put it to a Ithicas bow it will not allow it anymore. This was done frequently in the past, but at this point moding Bonus items in any way, Dye, or mods is not allowed I guess....
