I know for a fact the people can vote for the "game of the year" Among many nomenies.

Question is:

Where can I vote? I know that I did it once on Gamespot.com, but I can not find anything anymore.

Off the top of my head, I'd say have a look around at games such as WoW and how they got their awards. They usually link to where they got their awards from.

GW also has an awards page you can look at too. They have links that show you where and why they got their awards. Most of the awards they get come from game editors and such, but there are a few "voter's choie" awards out there:
