I've got two minipets - one as a birthday gift (Necrid Horseman) and one coming from a Nightfall preorder.

Other than stuff like that, what awards you minipets, other than buying/trading?

other than that nothing gives you a minipet to my knowledge

Japan is having a contest right now in their various net-cafes that gives 1 of 3 minipets (naga, oni, yeti), so their are other methods to get them, but they are rare. You can also buy them from other players.

Are the codes from PC Gamer still valid? My friend has the issue and he's sending me his code when he gets home.

Yes. PC Gamer codes don't have an expiration date as far as I know.

They (the PC Gamer codes) can only have one use/user, however (in case you thought otherwise).. They act just like a preorder items code, or any other Guildwars code...

Also theres a bug that only nightfall made characters can do the toy story quest.
