Simple Idea - Game Clock

As well as being used as a standard time for events, I could use it to watch the seconds of my wasted life tick by. :P

They should have added this a long time ago.

/signed, a lot of people suggested this a really long time ago, and anet never implemented it, maybe it is harder to do then we think. but either way, thnx for opening up this idea again.

/signed, It's really hard to co-ordinate a GvG i find, when our guilds memebers are all from different places.

Although could you guys use widgets for this? Just an idea, although that puts a strain on memory so it really should be in the game.

Good idea. Certainly seemed to have struck a chord with everyone here.

After seeing the response to this thread I decided to make little page that displays the time of events in your local time.
Feel free to use, I should be able to update it often, you can find it
_here_.
However, a clock tower ingame would be really cool! Hope they do it.

And they could even be merged in one, because they basically ask the same.
But I bump this one for having the greatest amount of replies.
Well... Why do I bump it?
Because it is needed.
You could say: "Use an external clock" or "Use your taskbar's clock" and things like those.
But that will not do. Why not?
Because GW servers have their own clocks, and I've tasted myself today that they do not match att all 'international' time at all times.
Today I tried to enter the event three times... It was a bit hard to scape from a certain thing I had to do, by the way... but I managed to.
My first attempt was a failure. I entered 30 minutes before the event, yet nothing happened. I doubt it having to do with the time.
In my second, I entered the district just in time. My system clock was at 5 minutes before the event... and nothing happened.
My third was somehow... strange. I got to the district 15 minutes before the time set in the wiki... and it started 10 minutes before the time! At the time the frog arrived and the Party Time! effect was active, it was 5 minutes before the correct time.
After the event, I directly want to check my system clock.
Synchronize again... nothing changed, my timer was correct.
Then I checked web sites like time.org.
Same result. My time was ok.
So that leaves that GW server I was connected to had incorrect system time.
I don't know how it works, but along the latency they show in the LED window (that one that appears when you place the mouse over the gree/orange/red LED), THERE should be also the 'system time' so we can know what time it is in the server, since it seems that it's not always the same as the time.. well... everywhere else.

The three main ways I can think of.
- One-shot /time command.
- Clock panel, that you can move, remove and rezie anyway you want with the GUI editor.
- Another line in the LED bubble.
For the /time command it seems to be quite easy. Simple redirection of system time.
For the others, they could work just like the Windows system clock.
The client synchronizes with the server clock upon connection, and after that it runs on your own system clock timer.

Please...it's really needed. Even if one had to hover over the little circle that tells you your ping or something. Though just having the numbers displayed above the minimap or something would be so much easier.
