I must be extremely lucky when it comes to dye drops. I have those things rain on me like... rain.

I have 2 sets of armor on one of my monks, both dyed black. 7 of those 8 vials came from drops, not buying. That monks dragon mask is dyed black too, also a black from a drop. I have 4 vials of black sitting in my storage right now, all 4 of those were dropped from vermin before the AI update. This is not including 3 blacks that I had taken from me (don't ask), and 3 or 4 others that I gave to friends. Then on the first day that white and brown were introduced, I randomly popped into a mission place I didn't even need, joined a full group of people in hopes of getting a new dye to drop for me and... wouldn't you know it? A white dropped for me.

Not trying to brag, I just find it odd that I've had so much luck with black dye drops and everybody else I know hardly ever gets any, or never has gotten any.

why doesnt anet create a storage for dyes just like they did with crafting materials?

OMFG. Thats like unlucky. I got a black dye my first day of playing guild wars, in ascalon.

I've only been playing the game for 4 months but i've already gotten like 50 black dye drops. And also 4 white dye since NF came out

So we'll buy another character slot, make a character named "Dye Mule" and shuffle the dyes back and forth through the storage...

Seriously though, we need more storage badly, and weekends like these (which I do enjoy having - so don't get me wrong) make them more so needed.

To me, these fun weekends are semi-ruined by the looming storage issues. I find a black dye, maybe several whites... yet I have no room to put them without going into storage, shuffling crap around, log out, log into the mule character, pull the dyes out of storage, log out, log back in and re-shuffling the crap.. then I get to conitnue playing. /yawn

I've been playing for 18 months or so and have gotten exactly 2 black dye drops. So far, no white or brown...but I seem to get a yellow or orange every couple weeks or so.

I'm hoping I have better luck this weekend...or at least black/white dye prices will crash for a while so I have a chance at some.

I think this is neat. Not that I really need more dye, lol. Who knows maybe I can start sharing with my guildies more. (You never know who might need one) or maybe I can give them away as prizes or something.

I'm chuckling, and yet feel bad for those who have played for a long time and have only gotten like one black dye drop. My fiance and I have been playing for 4 months and have gotten close to 15 black drops. Just lucky I guess. I just got my first white on Sunday too.

In nearly a year and a half, I have had three black drops, the first during the Wintersday celebration last year. No brown or white yet, though, and I have a decent (though certainly not excessive or even 'lucky') amount drop infrequently.

I was bemoaning the fact that in NF so far I haven't had any dye drops and was puzzled (of course, I *am* only nearer Kamadan). I stopped in Champion's Dawn and saw someone was needing an iboga petal -- I had three extra and thought to give her one when she gave me three dyes in return! (red, blue and purple) All I can figure is, besides being thankful, they were taking up too much space. Yep, these three don't stack -- and the purple says it's worth 25g. Weird.

But since I use the dye for my girls (there's 10 characters to prettify), storage isn't usually a huge problem......

It will be great that they are having the double dye drop weekend but like already stated between the runes, armor components I have come across and dye not stacking properly my storage has now once again filled up with stuff I was very happy when they made the material storage addon but that still does not hold all of what I have collected over the years so I had to part ways with most of it to make room.

I have collected and held onto my black dye's until I find that armor above all others to use it on because the prices where just to high, I held onto other colors for awhile just because I wanted to change up but sold.

The storage seriously needs to be increased to hold maybe 20-30 items and then pay for any additional storage slots like other mmorpg's. With the three games now it is becoming very hard to store anything with my heroes I have all there upgraded weapons plus mines, mini pets, armor and so on for each character I have on my accounts, I just pray they make a change soon.

i've gotten 3 black dyes in the exact same mission, in the exact same place, twice to one character.

In my whole GW career, since August 2005 I have only gotten 2 Black Dyes. And now after 15 hours in Nightfall, dye count = 0. (Besides the quest reward dye, which give me a rad, cheap bastard). So not fair. :/

The only reason ANet is doing the dye weekend is to (in their sense), to drop and balance the dyes at the dye trader. At least that is my take of things. Same when they had the Green weekend. Most things saw a decrease in price after that weekend. They are hoping that everyone will sell their dye and force prices down. I guess they don't want white dye that high in price and people making somewhat decent money. Again, ANet has opened the door to an imbalance by giving those farming bots a perfect opportunity to corrupt the economy once again rather than letting it be. It's just a cover up that sounds nice and dandy to all of us.

Never had a black dye drop for me since the first night of prophecies, I've seen black dye drop for others just not for me.

It's all good tho, purple ftw

Actually looking forward to this, as am going to be spending most of the weekend exploring Elona anyway...

I've been playing for about 6 months. I very very rarely get dyes. So far I've gotten... two reds.. two purples. Two yellows..... and one silver.

That's it. In total. in 6 months. Never even SEEN A black drop for any groups I'm in or anything. And I like GREEN Armor. lol. Oh well. It's not going to stop me from playing or anything. Green is pretty cheep as far as purchased dyes go. Still waiting on my "black" Drop though. This weekend gives me hope. But knowing my luck I'll pick up two orange or something.

Farmed for Orr symbols at “Gates of Kyrta Mission” this weekend got dye to drop almost every run, and one was a black whooo hooo!!!!!!. Then I heard about Roots over in Elona. Farmed loads of roots but had only a couple dyes the whole time Best I got was a silver

It seems that the luck or randomness is the name of the game...50 dyes in 6 months compared to none in 1500 hours is pretty ridiculous.

I myself have only got 2 black dye drops in 600 hours of gameplay...might i add that quite a few of those 600 hours were spent farming.

1 black dye in 500 hours. Well, two, but one doesn't count. Who wants to hear the story? That's right, all of you. Well anyway I was wandering around Old Ascalon one day with my Ranger, killing Stone Elementals. I killed a pair of them who were attacking my Wolfy and guess what they dropped? Black dye and a sapphire. Guess what happened next? Err=7.
