Assassin Hero not using Duel Attacks

Hi Anet!

I love my assassin hero, but no matter what bar I give her I can't seem to make her use dual attack skills. My hero prefers to use unsuspecting strike over and over instead of going up the combo chain. And while I enjoy having wild blow in her bar... she uses THAT more than dagger skills sometimes!

Now, I know that programming the AI to do a full Mobius Build might be too much to ask for, but I'd like to see my hero do a death blossom every now and again.

I haven't noticed this exactly, but I have seen some weird behavior. I went to the sin forums and found a nice chain I liked... (I've never played a sin.)

What I've noticed...

Mark of Instability seems never to be cast.
Aura of Displacement... my sin cancels it and suddenly is miles away from the party. The first time it happened I thought she got stuck so I went back and found that she was running toward me. I figured she unstuck... but a little while later I had her selected and *poof* she was off the radar.

I do see her targets get poisoned occasionally so I'm assuming she's doing Falling Spider. I'll have to watch her a bit more... which is hard because I'm on my rit and typically concentrate on healing other party members.

yeah, i don't think AI knows how to do complicate builds.

For assassin run a pretty basic but effective build. Don't try anything fancy.

here's a good assassin build:

leaping mantis
wild strike
repeating strike
twisting

since there is only 1 chain, it forces AI to use it

for protection since AI don't know how and when to shadow step
use:
viper's defense
heart's shadow
shadow refuge
and of course rez sig.

Programming the AI to do a full sin combo isn't hard. Its already in the code. The npc sins use it, the henchmen use it.

The only thing that might make it hard for the NPC, is if the skill chain has two choices to branch off of.

The chain I use is

way of the empty palm, golden lotus strike, leaping mantis wild strike, repeating, death blossom, caltrops, shadow refuge

She'll have way of the empty palm up at all times, and when battle starts she caltrops, runs in, GLS, LMS, wild, repeating a few times, then death.

Now thats not what I wanted, but it gets the job done. The way I use it is LMS wild repeat death GLS wild repeat death

I'm using her as a black magic assassin (A/N)

I've just called the template Black Lotus, after the opener.

12 Dagger Mastery, 13 Critical Strike, 10 Death Magic, 1 Curses

1. Dash
2. Black Lotus Strike
3. Twisting Fangs
4. Plague Touch
5. Virulence
6. Shadow of Fear
7. Taste of Pain
8. Consume Corpse

50% attack speed debuff, bleed, deep wound, poison, disease and weakness all executed to perfection. She makes weapon users cry

She'll use Taste of Pain if she needs to or not - sometimes she needs prompting, but it's usually automatic. She'll use CC more as energy management (clearing up her mess ), and with 13 crit, BLS and CC she seems to have enough energy income.

She sometimes need prompting to cast SoF on casters so that she uses her chain - and occasionally prompting her to use Virulence is useful too.

It's great! I can sit back with my warrior and use her as a remote control killing machine - she's quite a beast I've set her up the same way on my rit, but I've not levelled her up yet.

When I inevitably run her with Olias as a MM, I'll pull CC off her - actually I've been thinking about Malign Intervention on her and Verata's Gaze on Olias to take control of the resulting spawn... this is so much fun thinking about the combinations!
