Insane boss damage?
Bringer Of Fury
**May contain minor spoilers!**
First time through i had no problem at all with the kournan ele bosses, sure they hurt, but they went down pretty quick.
Now i tried to do some missions again to gain the master reward, specifically the pogahn passage mission.
Everything went well, i breezed thru with olias as mm, no problems here. When i got to the dock, however (at the end) there was an ele boss that i, at first, did not notice.
Suddenly everyone but 2 henchmen was dead, all the minnions, all the heroes, me, from 1 fireball and 1 meteor.
Sure i like a challange taking down bosses, but seriously, less then 3 seconds to take down AN ENTIRE party is a bit overpowered imo.
If it was from some uber boss, like a demon or something it would be ok, but from some randomly named Kournan guy it feels a bit silly.
I dont know if this have been changed since i did not notice it at all the first time through.
Anyone else had the same experience with theese elementalist bosses?

Elementalist bosses are ALWAYS thought of as overpowered. To me, there are only 2 that may deserve the title of "overpowered" (from what I have seen so far) and that is Wavecrest Stonebreak and Kunvie Firewing. I feel a lot of Ritualist bosses are overpowered but..."meh"...the game has been designed that way. When you know what he uses it is easy to counter it...usually.

Henchies/Heroes have a tendency to bunch up, which makes them easy meat for nukers. If you have to do this mission with hench/hero, then manually spread them apart before the bosses. If all thats too difficult to coordinate, simply get Ward against Harm. A rough way to handle it, but it works.

Well i went back in with interrupts etc, he only managed to get one shot off.
*Spoiler!*
Why dont i get to have that hard hitting fireballs
Anyways, its kind of mean by anet to put him there since you have to protect the weak lvl 16 Shahai and she dies instantly if hit.
I dont recall that even the faction ele bosses did that much damage with a skill that spammable, i remember starburst doing some serious damage but only to the tanks, and starburst is an elite.

sage tank
mix the party up with casters, bow and melee, than even if meteor hits it will kill off 2 or 3 henches. But still ele boss is way overpowered with double damage, when i did the consulate dock I ended up with me 1 on 1 (even the allied NPCs has all died) the last ele boss, triumphed with 50+ hp left, I almost lost my breath.
gabrial heart
well the siege attacks in cemetary will kill the whole party to. basic strategy tells you to either counter or avoid, plus the hero ai (ranger and mesmer) are excellent interrupters and the monks make great proters.

prot spirit + spirit bond + temple strike sin that plays tank for a second = dead ele boss?
surely they are strong, same with rit bosses that use spirit rift, but just run around like mad, and, even better, use your flag control.
havnt had too many problems with bosses because im a monk and can be my own prot while the hero takes care of the healing

Well i did not ask for help to defeat him, merly pointing out that he was strong.
The problem was not how to counter, rather that i was suprised by how fast he managed to kill my group when i did not see/underestimated him.
I guess i was unlucky the first time through since all my hench was standing in range of the meteor.
I have seen the previous threads about ele bosses being very strong, i just never experienced it myself firsthand.
Also i did not know that the bosses had double damage as they did in factions, feels a bit silly that a lvl 24 kournan boss does more damage then abbadon tho

Put back your heroes by using the flags. Have the monk cast Protective spirit on you, rush in, take the meteor and fireball ( like a man ) and then let loose you heroes, while making sure you kill the ele first. Easy ?
-.-
Train Margrid the Sly on the Elementalist boss while you kill the priest.

Prophecies used to be about clearing the mob then the boss. With Factions came a definite need to focus on the boss first in certain circumstances (eles especially). If you had noticed the ele boss and focused some hurt in his direction everyone probably wouldn't have been bunched and you'd have been less likely to wipe.
