Monster AI smarter with AoE, or not?

OK, I'm one of those players who gets a load of cash, then blows it on something expensive, and now I'm sitting at 887gp. So, I like to farm trolls a lot and when I heard that Monster AI flees from AoE dmg (namely cyclone axe and triple axe in this case) that didn't really make sense.

See, trolls are melee, right? That means even if they run away when I CA/TA, they have to come back to me to fight, right?

So what I'm trying to say is, it doesn't really matter if Monster AI was improved, because trolls still melee you making them still vulnerable to CA/TA.

On a side note, if this works and troll farming isn't screwed, Monster AI follows longer, so more trolls

lol. Looks like someone figured out the silver lining to the 'Dark cloud' so many people are complaining about. But then common sense is not so common. Congratulations on getting a full measure!
