Help with Hero skill spam

I've been playing in the arena and one thing I notice is that unless I micro manage my ele 100% of the time, he will sometimes spam a skill and cancel it repeatedly, which drains energy and possibly causes exhaustion. Does anyone know what causes this? I would like to know so I can avoid doing it so my ele isn't out of energy before casting one spell.

Or is it just a hero bug?

I hear signets and/or glyphs cause this. I cant comfirm it though.

My ele doesn't have a signet or glyph. Most often he spams deep freeze or heal party.

My best answer currently is, avoid "guard mode". Always either on aggressive or avoid combat, never guard.

It seems it will happen more rarely if they aren't on guard mode.

I also have this problem with my Ele Hero (set to defensive); however, my monks also cancel skills and they are always set to passive. I think it has to do with the kiting AI.

Also, when I order them to cast spells, they will cancel to kite. That killed me and cost me my freaking survivor title, so I am a little pissed atm.

Ai is very odd when it comes to reaction settings for example they won't use well of blood in gaurd which is odd as its a deffencive skill.

I've seen it happen a lot with signets and glyphs but it seems to happen with every skill. I'm not sure what's causing this but it looks similar to the interrupts caused by moving forward while casting a spell. I hope this problem will be solved since it happens all the time.

paragon hench did the same thing with signets on the grand court mission, my heros have never gliched though
