I've noticed alot of dervs looking for avatars caps in lots of towns.
The Avatars arelocated in the middle of maps in castle surrounded by kourins. Lyssa is in sunward march, balth is in J. Bluffs. There is some issue if you have done forward the story line to far you wont be able to cap. Best practice is if you don't have all that you want, you should scout out the area for a castle and find out if an Acolyte is in it.
There is a castle in Marga Coaste and Arjok Ward I dont know if they have Acolytes, but they do have castles.

Weird, I have Melandru and Lyssa.
Moved on to Jahai Bluffs last night but didnt find Balth anywhere. And I cleared the entire Jahai Bluffs area.
Does the acolyte not always spawn? (never had this problem for lyssa or melandru).

ok so i capped so far grenth and dwayna, i tried to cap balth but hes hard, and i just tried to cap lyssa but she wasnt there at all. now someone in the game said that you cannot cap her if you reached the rank of sunspear general. now, i only tried to go get her once, so i dont know if she just didnt spawn or what, but is this true anyone? i think if it is that it is just plain stupid. how were we suppose to know that were cut off from getting certain things but advancing further into the game. how dumb is that?

ok, so i found out why you cant cap lyssa, if you beat the mission ventra cemetary or something like that, she wont spawn for you anymore. i think that is crap cuz i had no idea that would happen at all. did you? why would they do that? now have you cap a skill for as long as you keep that character. thats bogus.

as for the lyssa cap. If you already did the mission why not just take some one who hasn't done it. The boss should spawn by my thinking atleast. No idea if it would work...but it can't hurt to try

Today in Kamadan ID1 Gaile Gray addressed the Lyssa problem. She said she'll have the team look into it.

Id say Melandru is the most powerful,with Balthazar as a close second due to it costing less energy,its my goal to get all of them though,so far i only have grenth and balthazar.
Im going for Melandru now,any particular hints or things i should watch out for?With all avatars i havnt got yet that is.
On a side note i think il use Balthazar the most since Melandru is a female god and..well believe it or not but i dont like playing with a female :S

How can you guys have trouble finding balthazar?Go onto the Jahai Bluffs using the exit at the Command post,go around the corner and the fortress is in sight,the acolyte is right there!

These things are much easier to cap if you blind them. Makes a huge difference.

Besides, the "tag along" method for Lyssa doesn't work. My gf wanted to cap that avatar and i was going for it on my Dervish. She had completed the mission before on that character, my dervish however was a new char. When she was in the team, the acolyte wasn't there. When i went there without her, it was there. We tried the old method of "partyleader determintes instance" but that didn't work either.
So currently you only have a small opportunity on Lyssa (which is quite imba imho) or else you're screwed until A-Net fixes it.

If you guys are having trouble finding the acolytes; why not look them up on Guildwiki; or go by this rule Acolytes seem to follow: they always spawn inside some sort of fortress. Just clear as many patrols and archers as you can from around the forts, and then scan them for Acolytes. I capped all 5 this morning.

with the exception of ebon dust aura (bastards) i capped all the derv elites. it sucks, and most of them are useless, but none the less not bad. the good news is that you can hench every cap. As far as the forms go, lyssa is bugged, and if you bring someone that hasn't done venta yet, it wont matter. as long as someone in your party has done the venta mission, lyssa wont spawn. my only problems with the avatars are the actual bonuses they provide at a price of the elite slot. they are great, don't get me wrong, but id rather wounding strike any day.
the combo of melandru + waerying strike is nice, but melandrus energy cost makes me want to cry. As far as all the people needing human groups for the caps: im hoping (assuming) that they want the group for the overall experience, because after capping "onslaught" i realized how easy the form caps are.

I got my Avatar today! I did complete Venta Cemetary before but... The Acolyte of Lyssa spawned and the party consisted of me and heroes/henchies. So maybe the bug is fixed or something?
