Today I got my first perfect sword 20/20, 15^50, +5 armor, req 5, damage 11-16. So I gave it to my wisdom titled character to expert salvage the 20/20 and what ever else I could get. My salvage kits were placed differently in my inventory than the character I had been playing so instead of using the expert salvage kit i accidentally used the regular salvage kit and whammo, I got 5 iron ingots. Argh! Doh! Waa waa waa.
There already exists a verify dialog with the expert salvage kit if you choose to salvage materials only. Please extend this to the regular salvage kit when salvaging an item that has removeable mods. Make the dialoge a toggleable feature so you can turn the verify off if you don't want it.
Thanks, and perhaps this feature will help prevent someone else making the same mistake I did.
Argh... bang, bang, bang.
"Honey, I have to go buy a new keyboard now..."
Feature request: A verify dialoge when regular salvaging a item with mods.

A prompt with or very similar prompt you get when you try to salvage a rune from an un-id'd monster armor drop letting you know about destroying magical properties would be very nice.

Some of us stay up rather late on occasion, playing GW, and get "a little fuzzy-headed" sometimes.

Looks like they've added a warning - I tried to salvage a purple with a "lesser" salvage kit and got asked if I really wanted to destroy the item. This will help save the OP's keyboard.
Note: Blue items do not have the same warning and are salvaged with out any notice.
Thank you ANET.

Not exactly, you don't get the warning when the item has innate modifiers.
That is, non-removable ones.
You get it if it is not identified, or it has upgrades and inscriptions you can salvage.

Therefore, this has been added.
There is no reason to warn if the item has only inherent attributes. Keep it or salvage it if you want.

Yeah, also if I may make a further suggestion to the players, it's more convenient to just have one expert salvage in storage when you need it than to carry one around on every character.....
