Chest Drops Biased Per Class?

Ok this is just based on my personal experience from chests and I was just wondering what others have got from chests.

Out of all the chests i've opened with my warrior and ranger I almost always (probably 85% of chests opened) get some sort of caster weapon be it wand staff or focus item, very rarely I will get a melee weapon or a bow or shield, which as we know is where the big money is.
During the double drop weekend I ran all over Melandru's hope for ages on my ranger and just got tons of caster stuff.

Do you have better chance of getting the good stuff if you run as a caster?

What are other peoples personal experiences?

P.S - Maybe I just have crap luck but meh..

Exactly the same for me. I often open chest with my ranger, most of the time I get wand or staffs, never bows.

Gotta love all these people who harp on and on about chests being random. Yes, we know already...doesn't stop us noticing patterns... Personally not opened too many chests so far...I am an elementalist and I have mainly only got spears from the chests I have opened. More annoying though are the drops I've been getting from enemies... must be 80% of them are daggers...blue, white, purple... It's driving me mad. I have no assassin and I HATE DAGGERS!

Considering that there is 1 warrior and 1 ranger profession but 5 caster professions it just seems like the odds are greater for some sort of caster item to pop out in general.

If you are looking at it even more narrow than that, "Why don't I ever get anything for MY profession?" then it is even worse, 10 professions and you have 1 or 2 depending on your point of view (wa/me who is only interested in a sword or shield, for example).

Random is random.

Sure. But with about 100 chests opened with my ranger, why I haven't get only ONE gold bow whereas I got (crapy, needless to say) weapons for nearly all other professions (and mostly for casters like Amber staff, indeed) ? (all my bow are greens).
Same thing for runes : I can't count the number of runes dropped for Assassin and Ritualists (on Cantha)... (I don't play Assassins nor Ritualists). Aren't the drops biased for these 2 (new) professions ?

OMG, I know! Way too many daggers are dropping in Nightfall. This is ridiculous.

I have to agree...way too many steel daggers...

I Second that, Elonian, Steel, Anciant Daggers, drop WAY to often concidering those profetions arn't even *in* Nightfalls.

I've lost track of how many daggers I've sold to the merchant, from Elona, with an ele....

I'm even luckier than you I get "nothing" beside some gold!
Most of the time when I get some sort of items they always are white and not even max damage.
Keep in mind that I'm in Elona mainland using a character created in NF and I'm fighting level 24 minions (See pics)
and doing quests/missions! Never ever found a gold items!
I must say I found better items when I was playing in the noob island!

Something weird is going on here.

You still get 9-35 white req 12 scyths In the deep Torment.

The way I see it Anet and the Guildwars Gods have sat down and thought it out..

If you go out with your Warrior and Ranger and all you get is stuff for those 2 classes then there will be no need for trading... It's painfully obvious to me that this was done on purpose.. So get the good drops and sell the ones you can't use and get rich like I have.. At one point in time I had almost 300 platinum in my bank account... And of course after buying weapons and armor it has dwindled..

SO just play and sell...

Well I've played through NF with a dervish and my old Tyrian warrior. Can't recall anything interesting dropping for the dervish, but the warrior did get a 15^50 shortbow from a chest with 1 perfect and 1 close-to-perfect mod, so that kinda demolishes your theory about warriors always get caster stuff. My paragon just got to Realm of Torment and has been getting lots of blue and purple armors.

I don't trade much so I don't mind getting caster stuff to equip my heroes.

From what I can tell, the drops are totally random.

Well... from my experience, staffs and stuff have been coming mostly out of chests. But I think that is due to the fact of such a high variability of different staves compared to varieties of "fighter" weps

I see your point. In which case...having multiple characters is great! if my ranger wants something nice I can take my ele out chest running!

Took my ele out today and opened one chest. What did I get? The perfect shield for my paragon! Now with her spear she's kitted out real good!

Well I wont complain about the drops or chest runs, I have 16 slots so any drop is useful to me in a way; if not I just sell it.

Did they nerf the drops in tombs and Fow and UW? I have been noticing they suck.... no shards or ecto or anything. Today i went through Tombs several times and there were even very few chests, and once I didnt see one at all
