Do Heroes get the 20% damage bonus from a customized weapon?

I did a search and couldn't find a direct answer to this. Anyone have an idea?

Yes, when you customize a weapon to a character it's heroes get the customization damage bonus.

I thought it might be a bug that they could even equip customized weapons.

It's not a bug. It's how you customize weapons for your hero.

Easy way to test would be to Wild Blow the 60 AL armour, once on your hero and once on yourself. See if the health bar drops the same amount.
