While I have to admit I love the possibilty to save templates and exchange
them, there are still some minor annoyances, which I believe, can be fixed
easily.
First of all it would be convinient to see only templates than feature the
same primary class as the character you are currently logged on with. If I am
playing my Necro I generally don't pay attention to any Ritualist, Warrior,
Ranger, etc. templates as I simply can't use them, but once you have
created a couple of templates it gets pretty chaotic in the template list.
Secondly it would be nice to be able to select only the primary class for
creating a build. This would help alot when exchanging build with someone
else. Lets say I have a N/Me and make a build that - with regards to GWiki -
would fit as a N/any build, I still have to choose a secondary. Now when I
save that build and hand it over to a guild mate, which has a Necromancer
but with, let's assume, a Monk secondary he wouldn't be able to load the
build until he unlocks the Mesmer as a secondary class for that character.
Although it's not too much of a problem over all it still seems somewhat
unneccessary to me, since the original build consists soley of Necromancer
skills.
In addition I would favour the ability to annotate or preview my builds as
well. That probably would help in finding the right build once you have some
more builds to select from, without the need to load and see until you found
the right one.
Last but not least, I noticed that when I created a PvP character and save a
build I am not able to load that build into a Roleplay character later on. While
the attributes are put to correct values the skill bar remains empty. I'm not
sure if this is an intensional feature or a bug. I don't see any reason for it.
Additionally it would be nice if someone could also try that out to approve it's
not only my wrong doing here. When I got that behaviour I worked on
templates that included skills I didn't actually had with the Roleplay character
as well as builds where I had all the skills, with the same result.
