Sort of like Xbox when they first came out, MS lost $$ on each one sold...they made all the money from the games.

I imagine that most people that purchase NF as their first GW game will eventually buy the other chapters once they realize how much they're missing.

I bought Factions first, then went back and bought prophecies and preordered NF. However, the main reason I bought Prophecies was for some skills i wanted to incorporate into my builds, not for the gameplay. IMO players who purchase NF first, if they are "hardcore" players will go back and purchase the other campaigns (most likely factions IMO) for skills or the storylines, but the casual player probably will not. could be wrong, but thats just the general feeling i get. |
After NF I'm hardly in Cantha or Tyria but that might be because I'm still busy on exploring it, although I won't see myself in Tyria much unless a friend/guildmate needs help going trough the continent with a new character.

I'm loving NF and I have to admit, Elona is everything I thought it would be and more. But Tyria is home. I'll always go back there.

I've always though Droknars as a place for trading high level equipment, Lion's arch for materials and various weapon mods and Ascalon for the rest of the newbies

^ agree.. of course I think Kodash Bazaar might be able to win that title of a place now.

Tyria is home but I doubt I will hit droks for a while if ever..droks only served two purposes..
1> Pit Stop on chest runs
2> Buy/sell materials

Well, i'm taking my time with NF (just got to the realm of crazy-craziness full of crazy things), but I think my dervish will find a home in Tyria. I have no desire to play through Cantha again (hated it, it forced me to AB), but Tyria should be fun as a Dervish

It's hard to continually add new areas in a MMORPG and not have the old ones become gradually obsolete, but it's definitely possible and something I really hope future games can accomplish. For Guild Wars this isn't as much of a problem, as it's more of a strategy/combat game than an RPG. I would really like to become fully immersed within a fantasy world, though, for any actual MMORPG that I play in the future. The first two years of Everquest definitely offered some of the most excited game playing I've ever experienced and it would be great to have that feeling rekindled again.
