Hey guys...first time posting a build here. This build has worked well for me so I thought I'd share.
Skills:
1. Barbed Spear - Bleeding 12 second
2. Blazing Spear - +15 damage, burning 2 seconds
3. Disrupting Spear - Disrupts Conditioned Foes (Optional)
4. "They're On Fire" - 41% less damage from burning foes,20 seconds
5. Anthem of Flame - Allies in earshot 10 seconds next attack skill causes burning for 3 seconds
6. Leader's Comfort - +66HP and +18 for each ally in earshot (Optional)
7. Troll Unguent - +8 HP Regen (Optional)
8. Apply Poison - For 24 seconds, your attacks cause poison for 11 seconds
Attributes (at Level 20): Currently my attributes are as follows (not sure if I have +30, since they don't use attribute quests)
Wilderness: 10
Spear Mastery: 10
Leadership: 11 + 1 (+1 from the leadership headpiece)
Items/Armor/Runes: I am sure that I could add runes in, but I am saving to figure out what would go best. As of now, I just have the 1k Sunspear raiment, with Leadership Head Piece, non-runed/insigniad
Use: This is a team build, but I find it to be very effective in degen'ing a PvE enemy to death fast. I haven't tried in PvP, and I likely won't since I don't PvP. Just wanted to share it with you, and see if anyone else has any good P/? builds.
I originally had a P/E, but there are a lot of high cost spells in elementalist and I just couldn't support my habit of spell casting, so I changed to Ranger...like it so far.
Before entering a battle, I use Apply Poison, the I head into battle, I spam Anthem of Flame and "They're on Fire" when they're up to cause enemies to burn, and make them deal 41% less damage to my teammates in earshot, then use Barbed Spear (first) and Blazing Spear (second) for the burn/bleed/poison degen. I focus on the non-priority enemies first, then move up to priority targets. Anthem of Flame effects the next attack skill used, so don't use Anthem, and then Blazing Spear, because the burn doesn't stack. Use Anthem --> Barbed Spear, wait 2-3 seconds, -->Blazing Spear
If I am going into spell caster heaven, I bring Disrupting Spear to be used when an enemy spell caster is under the effects of a condition (which should be about 90-100% of the time from you attacking)
Optional Slots: Disrupting Spear can be swapped with Wild Throw to be used against tanks/rangers to end their stance plus deal an additional 15(?) damage. If you trust your healers, you can take out Troll Unguent and Leader's Comfort, and replace with any attack skill, shout/chant or preparations you'd like. I bought flame trap and barbed trap and it works well on crippling enemies/burning things to death.
If you choose to try the build in PvP, let me know how it goes. Hope you like it.

and what are you using for a shield/offhand item?
you've got no points in the attributes for the Paragon shields and rangers dont carry an off hand item..

Aye, sorry yes. I use the Game of the Year Serrated Shield. It's a 9 tactics req, so I obviously don't meet the reqs on it, but it gives +30 life at all times. The weapon I use is the Collector's Edition Spear. It's definately a team build, and not one I would PvP with personally...although it may work with the right PvP team. However, I see Paragons as being the priority target of people due to the mass AoE buffs they can give.

I decided to have ranger as my secondary in order to have the apply poison skill, but I cant seem to find who teaches it. Can you even learn it on the first Island? Did I miss something? Can someone tell me where i can learn it on Nightfall?
Govtmorgue
I personally learned it on the second island in the Command Post after I changed my secondary (and after doing the quest where you save the soldiers). Other than that, sorry I don't know where you can pick it up.

a superior rune on that spear mastery would not harm in that build

Please tell me you're not using both troll and leader's on the same bar. Also, I have no idea how you afford all these skills.

I definitely had Apply Poison as soon as I chose /R as my secondary, so it must be available in the training area. (Churrhir Fields - each trainer offered different skills, even the ones from the same profession). I'm surprised it's not available in Kamadan.

The way you afford the skills is that you have 12 in leadership. This effectivelly makes Anthem of Flame free (it costs 5, you get 4 energy back and by the time it casts you've recharged 1 energy), and They're Burning is 10 to cast, but you get 4 back so effectively it costs 6. I rarely use the heals (as stated why below). Here's how I do it.
I use Apply Poison before entering battle. After using it, I let my team start to run in, at which time I use Anthem of Flame. I then use They're Burning, and start spamming my adrenalin skills (Barbed Spear/Blazing Spear). By the time I need to use They're Burning, I have enough energy again. When I am against a caster, I use the Disrupting Spear skill on the hard hitting spells being cast. I rarely have to use my heal's, because I always have a hero healer, or real healer on my team, so those are just back-up skills against major degen. I usually am moving about due to the PvE tanks going for me due to my mass team buffs (or what the PvE AI thinks is the main buffer), but if you'd like to watch sometime, give me a call in game and I can show you that what I do, does work.

There are a lot of tweaks I leave up to you to use, as many people's gameplay is highly different than another persons. That's part of the fun though.
