Black Hair Issues

I wonder if anyone else is bothered by this; regarding the creation of character appearance for Factions:

Although it's not a major problem, I'm upset to find that the Factions characters don't really have a black hair option to chose from. Compared to the black hair color offered for Nightfall, the black hair for Factions characters is very dull and grey/brown (see attached picture).

I've already some Factions characters with black hair and I wish the black that's already being used for Factions can be tweaked somewhat to resemble the black hair from Nightfall - which is similar to how most real Asian hair looks (black, dark, and shiny) and Factions is Asian-inspired, after all - and that the color can be improved and be applied to existing characters. It's sad that there are so few options for Factions' hair color as compared to the other campaigns. The Nightfall black hair would work out so well in Factions!

Does this bother anyone else? Or is it just me...

This has bugged me since the release of Faction. The ritualist is not too bad already... the assassins don't even have black hair, only brown. Faction is based on Asian people! That means dark black hair! Have Anet never seen a real Asian person before? With the new black dye being darker than before, the brown hair for faction characters looks even lighter.
Anet please fix this!!!

*while you are at it, can you guys take a look at the faction monk's long hair style... there is a bald spot when you zoom out and thats equally annoying. thanks!*

I chose the darkest hair color for my assassin, and it looks brown, not black.
Anet should definitely add more hair color options for Factions characters.

however, they should not change the hair colors of existing characters because some people may like their brown hair color, and it'd just lead to a lot of complaints. Add the color options, then add a hair NPC so I can change my assassin's hair color! (but that's off topic, i think, so let's not discuss that here)

You've a good point, cherikku; if they suddenly change the darkest hair color option in Factions to more resemble black hair (like the black hair in Nightfall) for existing characters, some people, who liked the original color, may be upset.

But for other people who chose the darkest color because they wanted a color closest to black, such as myself, they should have the option of actually getting that color for existing characters if that is what they wanted in the first place. So, not only should a better dark/black hair option be available for Factions characters, those who wanted their characters with black hair should be able to get that color for their existing characters. Perhaps a command or such to fix it, such as /fixblackhair or something...

Maybe once we get that long-overdue hairdresser NPC, we'll be able to dye our hair, eh?

I want black hair for my factions characters! I'm Asian too and I want my factions characters to have hair like me. Why does nightfall characters have darker hair then factions? makes No sense. It's so obvious they should have black hair. If factions is based on asia they need hair like in Asia. Is Anet reading this?????

Though few people have responded to this post, it still bothers me that the black hair color option for Factions is more brown and grey than black and dull rather than shiny. An Asian-inspired campaign should have better options for Asian-looking hair. Please, look into this. Thank you.

Yes this bothers me!!!! My assassin's hair is soooo bad looking! When I heard they were making an Asian-based chapter with assassins, I was so happy! I want my assassin to have black hair. Really black hair. And shiny too. Yes, the Nightfall black is soooo much better then the Factions black hair! Please let us have the choice to correct it!!!!

There is a 'Change Hair thread' any possible change in hair dying (It woul be great being able to dye your own hair with dyes, XD) it would be great being able to fix your hair and change your hair color.

No no, Mirthraarkanere. it's not about changing hair color with a hair dresser or anything. But that factions does not have a good black hair color for the asian-based characters. Look at the picture. the assassin's have the worst "black" hair. It can't even be called black it's so bad!!!! And none of the factions hair colors are shiny. Real Asian hair is black and shiny. Nightfall has much better choice in black hair color and a lot more choices then factions. Factions has the least hair choices. And the black hair is sooo wrong!

Umm... my Canthan warrior's black hair looks pretty black to me. I honestly don't know what most of you people are complaining about. I was more mad that I couldn't make my Tyrian necro blonde (like there is no opinion for it at all).

Also, not all asians have "shiney" hair.

ok, so not all Asians have shiny black hair. But I have shiny black hair and so does my family and we're Asian and my Asian friends. And because I think of Asian hair as black and shiny, I want to have a Asian character with black and shiny hair.

But just a actual black color will be great!!!

I think it's great some people like their factions dark hair color. but i agree with the poster Crystalavalon. People who wanted Black Hair to begin with should get that. When factions first came out, i don't think anybody really complained cuz there was nothing else to compare to. Now with Nightfal out and we can see how nice the black hair is, some of us want the same thing for factions black hair too! many of the darkest hair choices for factions are just dark brown or dark gray and lots of them are very dull, not shiny. it's not that bad for the male characters but for the female characters especially the assassin, it's really bad! it's like brown and light brown!

please just let the people who want good black hair to get it for theyr characters! Please????

I too am asian and I agree with all of you here. Sometimes the color of the characters bug me. What also really bugs me is that you cannot customize the way your character looks....I think they should make an option for you to be able to customize the appearance of how you character looks like what the face and hair looks like.

I think for hair (and armor?) they should just have R/G/B sliders and a 'shininess' slider during character creation; and what the heck, why not allow player to use dye to dye their hair? But I agree, this option would be progress.
