Yes i didnt really pay attention, i entered the mission and an NPC who i needed to talk to for the mission asked for 5k, i had 5.2k so i pressed ok with a sigh, (hey i was pished). Anyway im now being told there was another way to do it.
So be warned, pay attention and dont lose 5k (i dont actually KNOW the other way im just told there is one, and why this RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing stupid thing was put there in the first place i dont know).

The mission tells you to look around. Therefore, it would be reasonable to look around.

I pretty muched skipped any cinimatic and just clicked clicked clicked on npcs untill they shut up, suppose ill take the effort now to actually read what they say and not just scan them, still......

I'm pretty sure you have to pay him 5k again later after beating the game (OMG Spoilers!) I'm currently trying to figure out how to get out of that.

Its funny - there are SEVERAL situations where people like you get screwed in Nightfall.

its annyoing yes, but i always have 10k on me so i was fine but pissed, it would be fun to be that guy with 5k from everyone (over 1 mil)

You aren't forced to pay the gold. The npc gives you the option to pay the fee or to complete a task for them.
