The battle of Turai's Procession
Solar_Takfar
So, at last, a "master difficulty" quest that actually earns the title. I've tried it twice with heroes+hench, and while I can can initially hold out fine, things get start to get ugly when and enemy gets thru, kills Olias and all the minions turn loose. By the third wave, all the centaurs are gone and several of my hench/heroes have DP, so I end up being overwhelmed and getting a party wipe.
I suppose this is one quest that would take at least two good human players, maybe even using lightbringer skills, to complete successfully. It might be soloable, with the right party roster, lots of attention and some luck, but for now I think I'll skip it and get back to it once I've finished the game. So, how's everyone's experience with this one?

Ive done it..
AND IT WAS HARD
what i did was head straight for one group and let the other two rampage,i defeated the one group coming from the south and all groups spawning after it.then i had to defeat the much larger north group,it worked and i held out wave after wave despite centaurs being dead, however my party soon got wiped and then i had to pick off the clerics and kill one of the margonites before my team died and respawned again, granted,it was the biggest pain in the ass i have ever had but im so stubborn and wouldnt give up,so after alot of pain, annoyance, and a 60% DP most of the Margonites where dead..one by one! That took forever, eventually i managed to hold out again, with the occasional wipe,i almost failed at the last moment when the boss came along, but the thing is his group spawned at the ressurection shrine, where i had charged towards when a wave spawned and fought things out there,so every time i died i respawned and was able to finish the job,in the end only the boss was left standing and despite my hench team's DP (and my own) the boss died.
Gawd it felt so good when the text "See Mirza Veldrunner for youre reward." was in my quest log.
Thats my experience, good luck with youre attempts!

Absolutely ridiculous -.-
Possible solution is running dual MM's for the initial waves (olias + master of whispers), 2 MS + bed of coals nukers, 2 monks, and an assassin running the shadow form + sliver armor (for spiking down large groups once all the centaurs have been overrun). Leaves a spot open for the random dervish or paragon.
Otherwise....good luck!
Another master's quest that deserves the title is "A History of Violence" for sheer length and MS popups.
A few other torment quests too for that matter => barrage + deep freeze =

ooo. I must persevere, then... I kinda gave up after the second party wipe, and didn't have the patience to pick the remaining enemies one by one while having over 20% dp myself. you say there is a boss too? oh, man.
sucks that I don't have meteor shower or barrage unlocked, either... I guess those could have helped a fair bit.
The other quests I don't have yet, since I still haven't crossed into desolation. Either way, It seems Anet decided to really amp up the difficulty on some PvE, huh...

I like a challenge, this might be going to far but still, persistence victories!
Izlal
did it with hench + hero's, and my team only died once which was pretty much right after they all showed up at the beginning. I didn't think it was too difficult, i'd just lock my interrupt ranger on one cleric while pounding on the other and they'd both go down hella fast - don't let them cast aegis!
Cacheelma
I guess I easily finished the quest mainly because I'm a mesmer.... But really, it's just a long fight, and it's not that hard.

Well when all margonites decide to use you for target practice it isnt all that easy to hold youre ground.

I just got the quest now. It's a laugh. I whewed when the first wave was done but was really surprised that there was a second. What type of boss is it at the end, and what elite?
Here's a screenshot of the second wave after it wiped me out. No comments on build plz

Lol youre up against somptihng between 5 to 10 waves i think
The boss is a Necromancer.
Dont know the elite.
And when i found out there was a second wave i also went "Holy ****"
And once i was done i also thought "I can not believe i just did that!"

easy to beat. when the first wave comes, run towards the one coming from the right, kill all approaching waves from there (there should only be one from the left you can easily catch before it reaches the main group), then go onto the big group that came from the beginning, the two groups that came from the left. rather difficult as there are 4 clerics, but with at least one nuker and a MM it should be dealt with easily. run back if you need, kill slowly - i just killed them all in one bunch
then run to the left side, catch all waves there, and ignore the only one coming from the right. when they stop coming from the left, get the one that came from the start, kill that, then kill the final one on the left with the necro boss [dunno elite btw
]
easy really, just dont stay at the start so they wont run you over >_>

That sounds like a good strategy. Poor centaurs are bound to die left alone there while we hunt the waves away from them, but I guess they'd die anyway.
Diablo???
It's ridiculous, these Margonites were walking all over my face before I could even yell "look out!". Those centaurs be damned, they were literally wiped out within seconds. I haven't been in a quest this hard since I tried to do the "Undead Hordes" at level 9.
Rera
Try Troubled Keeper. That one's a hoot.
Zinger314
I thought this quest was impossible. Until I learned that I could respawn indefinately.
Then it was just a battle of persistance.

Mistress Mindbender
Hardest master quest, and by far the worst reward.
TechnoSword
wait if there all packed up in a group like that, what about some ele ice skil to slow em all down, with ms, and combined fury of 8 people casting lightbringers gaze?
disarm76
Easy with 2 Fire elem heroes.

Then it was just a battle of persistance. About the only way I see it is just to keep picking at 'em as you said. I just abandoned the whole quest after fruitless tries over and over. Pick your battles, and this one just doesn't flow properly or give you anything worth a darn.
The worst flow problem is when you meet Palawa along the primary. Go out, talk to the centaur to ask him to let you talk to Palawa, only to have a cutscene - and that's it. Battle of Turai at least gives you some strategy planning fun.

-_- how did you Troubled Keeper? (sorry for OT)
Diablo???
I just beat it, right now, barely.... and yes. 60% dp.
1 MM (me), 1 SS, 1 Dom Mesmer, 2 Stance Tanks, 1 Stance Derv, 1 Prot Monk, 1 Heal Monk.

Ya, did this mission, but not on purpose, was mapping and in they came...I was not pleased.
I thought the first masters quest in torment was more of a surprise though (as we didn't know it was a quest when we were doing it and though that was what all of torment was like...ya. Got some wtfs from our monk when he saw the waves come in).

godbaal
completed it yesterday with a party leader that didn't have the quest.
1* the quest dude stays at his spawn point (no idea if he may die but there he wont).
2* its best to assault 1..2 of the groups attacking the horde. Let the centair horde get slaytered. this way u only fight 1 or 2 margonite groups. every time u kill a group a new one spawns for like 5x.
3* after killing these respawning groups return to the quest location where u fight the last 2..3 groups.
4* after all groups are death one final group + boss arrives.
fighting them all at the same time is insane imo....

I remember doing this quest last week, most of which was at -60% DP. I had used the strategy of meeting the attack first (on left flank) and rolling up to next group. I returned to finish off remaing margonites hovering around the carcasses of our centaur pals. Feeling pretty good, I mistakenly thought that was the end of it, then shortly thereafter got spanked. Repeatedly. I refused to give up, even if my blood pressure was quickly reaching dangerous levels!
This was 1 of 3 quests I say should have a medical warning attached prior to accepting...."WARNING! IF YOU HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH HEART PROBLEMS, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE OR HAVE A NASTY TEMPER, PROCEED WITH CAUTION!"
I don't think my henchies will ever forgive me for all the names and abuse I piled on them during that battle.

I tried this one yesterday on my way to the wurm ride. I used heroes and henchies and didnt really have much problem as they I was usually able to finish one wave before the next one broke. About the six wave I noticed that a group was hung up over by the rez shrine. After watching them for a couple of rushes, finally went over and wiped them out. And then I waited. and waited. and waited. Nothing. Chatted with Mizrah and remaining centaurs. Nothing. Finally after running around area, clicking on everything, gave up hope of anymore spawn and finishing the quest. Bummer.

I tried this again after finding an awesome Paragon build. I kicked this quest's arse! All because of a tiny switch in builds.

If Mazrin dies, no big deal. Once the quest is over, you can zone out and zone back in to speak with her.

well i was out and about with 3 heroes i don't usually use the mes, assassin and ele. i only had them as i was levelling their pets. so i did all the quests then accepted the batttle quest.
JEBUS CRIPES!!! i id it eventually. 60dp woooooooo. been a long time since i had that.
next time i'm going with a guildie and i'm going to open a whole crate of whoopass. i'm talking MM, wells of suffering rotting flesh, SS, suffering, ulcerous lungs, poison and deep wounds. wooooooow

I didn't think Margonites had exploitable corpses? When I was out there with a guildie and we had Olias set to MM, he wasn't raising minions once new margonites died.
ramma77
yup they do. maybe he was bugged or something or he might have been AFK

There are definitely Masters missions, and then there are very poor attempts - they all need tweaked (or at least the individual designers involved to get together so they ALL have the same idea as to what difficulty means).
I spent maybe 5 minutes in the Temple of the Monolith which is a Masters level mission. That's difficult? You're in wurms!
Then I spent 3 hours trying to do a simple mission from Joko to kill 6 groups of rampaging undead. I couldn't get past the normal mobs! It wasn't a Masters level mission.
In another Master level mission, they put two rez shrines in overlap, but the path to get into those ravines is convuluted. If you die in a majority of the area, you end up 1/2 way across the map. That's not what a Masters level mission should be like - that's just bad rez shrine boundaries/design.
All of these missions are sad because they don't all manage to be the same level. ANet definitely needs to rethink some of these.

Go there with wildly clicking party-members and it becomes a place to farm deaths

I just did this awful thing >_> But I think it was more because of the type of margonites that were in the mobs. In each group there were clerics, seers, executioners, and reapers. In previous attempts there had been all of those plus warlocks or sorcerers...though I could have been mistaken.
and I henched it with all that evil 60 dp x_x and on a sin with a build i just concocted that helped for killing the stupid clerics when they kept healing each other and just needed to get that last hit in (Yay Moebius :D)
This is what I had in my crazy group:
- me, the poor bored little sin with nothing else to do o_o
- 3 monks (tahl as prot and the two henches)
- Zhed as fire nuker (Meteor Shower first for each run back to the mob)
- Cynn the fire nuker (her fire storm helps spread them apart, especially when the reapers multi-Mystic Sandstorm together)
- Olias as MM with Fleshie (though he's crappy, he pops up the minions fast). I had him with putrid explosion but I really should have tried with Death Nova. Oh well it was more of a half-hearted try when I did this.
- Devona as my tanker
>_> Don't know how long it took, but I was definitely at 60 dp after the second wave (I managed to live through the first individual groups :D and most of the rest of the first wave).
Another problem I had with this thing was that the single group kept switching sometimes. Sometimes they'll have 2 that go to the right, and sometimes it's the opposite. This threw me off the first couple of tries cos I would go to the left and then there would be 2 mobs. Then I would go to the right and the 2 mobs would be there o_O I was like "wtf o_O"
but yeah I'm happy x_x

This quest is definitely one of the more difficult but I suggest to include clause "Mirza Veldrunner must survive" into the quest description to be really worthy of master status

Didn't have too much problems with it, did get wiped twice though ^^ But meteor shower+balled up margonites= gg

Oh, and Gaze. Can smack them in the face with Lightbringers Gaze every now and then.
If that fails, I suppose I'll just try to pug it or something.

just did it with no deaths at all and my second mm was caster only as i didn't have any spare weapons for him.thought it was an other easy master quest myself.hope torment has harder quests as i'm off there now.
