I have got to say, the male Dervish dance eluded me the first time I saw it, and then I started hearing "Weapon of Choice" in my head and a bell went off. NICE job, NC Soft. Christopher Walken is awesome, and so was that music video. This also brings in a lot of new oppurtunities for the fanmade music videos out there.
Pointing out in-game pop culture references is the only thing I can do to make my Mom not hate video games anymore. She liked Mad King Thorn's references to Safety Dance and Smells Like Teen Spirit.
What does everyone else think about the new dances? The CE dances for female paragons and dervishes turn me off, though. The timing is a little too quick for me, and I think it looks a little strange when the characters have lighter skin. Maybe I just need a little more culture in my life. At any rate, those two new dances are not attractive. The boys get to be so much cooler.
Dancing!

I disagree.
Female Paragon's dance (CE or not) is way better than the Male Pargon's dance. I created a Male Paragon and it never bothered me that he had a skirt/kilt. He looked cool. Then I saw him dance.
His dancing turned me off right away. I shut off my computer that night and I didn't log on to GW until the next day. I then deleted my Paragon and creted a female Paragon. She dances better, I think.
If I can't stand the way my character looks or dances, I delete. This has been the only time I saw a dance that I couldn't accept.

I really like it because I love Christopher Walken, but it isn't really compatible beyond that song. It's not as good as the Elaine dance that the male elementalists do, but it's right up there.
But I still hate my female Paragon's dance. I'm actually studying North African culture in school right now, and practically the only thing I dislike about it is dance. Well... They have a LOT of different dances, so some I do like and others just turn me off. The one my female paragon does just turns me off.
Don't male paragons dance like Michael Jackson?
I myself make characters based on looks, too. That's why I originally bought Guild Wars, because WoW characters are too cartoony and unlovable for me. And the ritualist on the Factions box looked adorable.

I actually think tht the new dances are very funny and i like them...
I think the male paragon dance is from Michael Jackson's "beat it" ...and yea...."weapon of choice" for male dervish....
CE dance is just...odd...I still like the ritualist's "Napolean Dynamite" dance the bset though....one word-AWESOME...

I like the new dances, they are cool, especially, i like the female Dervish dance.
But noone says a thing about the stupid dance the Elementalist has.
Really, Elementalist is my favourite profession, but i am thinking of creating a Dervish or a Monk or a Necromancer...
The line between funny and stupid can be so thin, but Elementalists are definetly on the stupid side. Where is the fun to see a belly dancer? And about the male Elementalist - Ok, Seinfeld is verry funny, but to see your character acting like a r-tard it's not funny, not funny at all
